A young tipper boy well known within Agbor-Obi metropolis as Paul Okoli, is presently cooling off his heels at the Agbor police station.
Paul, 22, was arrested by members of a local security outfit in Agbor under the auspices of Agbor Youths General, for allegedly impersonating as vigilante member to rob a traveler of his phones and ATM card.
Narrating his ordeal, the victim who pleaded anonymity, said he was walking along the road in Alihami Community at the wee hours when Paul and his accomplice,Peter Amayo an indigene of Ohumere Community, Agbor accousted him. “They claimed to be members of a vigilante group which made me felt safe, but to my greatest shock, they demanded that I give them my phone and other belongings which I did before they ran away.”
Unfortunately, luck ran out on Paul when residents living within the area raised alarm which led to his arrest while his accomplice, Peace, disappeared into the thin air.
Right at the hide out, items such as female cosmetics and wears suspected to have been stolen from bulged stores situated opposite Fairview Hotel, Agbor, were recovered.
Owners of the stores, at press time, recounted their losses, positing that goods worth over #200,000 and #300,000 respectively were still missing as items recovered were not complete.
In a chat with the Chairman of the security outfit, Mr. Ogi Humphrey, he further narrated how the suspect was apprehended by one of his boys, and in the same vein assured that his group will not relent in their effort to help combat crime in Agbor even as he encouraged residents to keep watch of their environment.
