A beehive of activities is ongoing in what was once known as the ‘garage market’. From Earth moving machines pulling down structures to masons mixing concrete and engineers setting the pace of work, no one is in doubt that indeed a mega project is in the making.
Going by the words of the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Graceland Channels Ltd, the construction firm handling the project, Pastor Nat Omoruyi, Ika people should expect a world class market with state of the art facilities.

In his words, “we want to guarantee Ika people that this project is going to be delivered on time and of the highest standard. We are very experienced in the business of construction and have executed numerous ultra modern market construction projects in different parts of the country. Truth be told I foresee the only delay we will experience is the rains, nevertheless, we shall compete this project in the shortest possible time”.
He praised Ika people for their maturity and cooperation, noting that since the commencement of the project they’ve experienced no incident of violence or obstruction to work. He also commended the local government Chairman, Hon Victor Ebonka for his vision of bequeathing a modern market to his people which will go a long way in boosting economic development in the area.
