The umbrella group of the Abavo people, Abavo Clan Union will honour deserving indigenes of the Community, including non indigenes . The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Abavo Civic Center, Abavo on Saturday, February 6,2021 .
Speaking during a press conference at the Civic Center last Saturday, the President–General, Abavo Clan Union,ACU, Mr Jonathan Agbejeagwe Ohioya said that the essence of the awards was to honour and say thank you to “our illustrious sons and daughters, including friends of Abavo Kingdom who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of Abavo Kingdom.This is the maiden edition of the ACU awards ceremony and it is purely based on merit”.
The awardees are: His Royal Majesty Uche Irenuma 1, the Obi of Abavo Kingdom (Peace Initiative Award), Governor Ifeanyi Okowa (Good Governance), Chief Agbejie Osemeha, Chief Dr Ferdinand O.Onyekpeze(Culture and Tradition), Council of Olotus, Council of Chairmen,Barr J.B.Ibude, Francis T. The ACU leader used the medium to invite all sons and daughters of Abavo ,including friends of the Kingdom to the awards ceremony. He disclosed that ACU under his leadership is working round the clock to ensure that the issue of electricity and other infrastructural challenges in Abavo is addressed by government.
