Excerpts:
ACU achievements under Mr Lawrence Egun Onyeche
My administration has since inception recorded milestone and laudable achievements. Some of the achievements include, the completion of the expansive Agbor Community Hall with tiles, doors, painting and furnishing, the hosting of the the 2018 edition of Ogwa which had in attendance His Royal Majesty ( Dr) Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I, the Dein of Agbor, the executive governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, all traditional rulers in Ika land, including prominent sons and daughters of Ika Federal Constituency. In addition, my leadership has helped to facilitate the employment of Agbor graduates in different sectors of the economy, we have maintained cordial relationship both with our revered Royal Father, Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I, the Dein of Agbor and the entire Agbor people. We have embarked on tour of the various communities in Agbor Kingdom, our target was to promote peace in Agbor and which by the grace of God we have succeeded in doing. The ACU under my leadership played a vital role in the on-going building of the Police Area Command permanent office in Agbor. We also raised funds for the furnishing of the temporary office of the Area Commander. We run an administrative office of twelve hours each day (8.am–4pm) with paid staff. We have decentralized the offices as ACU now has deputy president general and vice-president in all the zones that make up Agbor Kingdom. This has helped us to reach our people in all the communities. In all, we are poised to help our Royal Father to build a better Agbor Kingdom where peace and progress will reign.
Edike Temporary Market
ACU welcomes any good developmental project that will serve the interest of our people and kingdom. As the mouthpiece of ndi Agbor ( Agbor people), ACU is not anti-development but, craves for quality or standard work at Edike Temporary Market, Agbor. We have mandated our committee on project to handle that aspect. Affiliate Agbor groups can make comments on burning issues but, they have no mandate to speak for ndi Agbor.
Agbor Railway Station
Federal Government of Nigeria gazetted Agbor Railway Station about thirty years ago. I don’t know why petitions are flying here and there in the naming of the rail station as Agbor. We have had many cases like this in the past. For example, Federal University of Petroleum ( FUPRE) though sited in Efurun people call the place Warri. We should work as a team in the growth of our geographical area called Ika. Whether we accept it or not whenever Ika land is mentioned, the first thing that always come to mind is Agbor. Therefore, Federal Government should not be blamed for gazetting Agbor Railway Station. I am using this medium to appeal to our sister communities to tone down their voices and join efforts to build a better Ika Federal Constituency.
ACU relationship with prominent Agbor sons and daughters
ACU maintains a very cordial relationship with prominent Agbor sons and daughters both in Nigeria and oversees. Our illustrious sons and daughters have contributed immensely towards the greater Agbor project and we are grateful to all of them. We urge them to keep on with the good works because we are proud of all of them.
Area Command permanent site building
ACU appreciates our illustrious son who is single sponsoring the project. The building project at the moment is almost at its completion stage. The same Agbor illustrious son who is sponsoring the building of the Agbor Police Area Command office building in the beginning donated three Hilux patrol vehicles to the police. All these have helped to enhance security work in Agbor.
New Agbor Palace Chiefs
ACU congratulates all the newly conferred Chiefs by the Dein of Agbor, His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I. We wish them well in their new traditional offices. We urge them and the old chiefs to join hands with our Royal Father (Baba) to move Agbor forward.
Osiezi festival
Baba( Dein) has assured us that Osiezi festival will be celebrated in 2022. Work on that is already on top gear as Agbor will be glad to host the world during the period. Baba also gave his consent that there will be Agbor Day celebration in October this year but,it could not to hold owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
ACU as rallying point
ACU is not partisan but play advisory roles on political issues. As an umbrella group, ACU has been trying to build synergy with all Agbor politicians for the interest of Agbor and our people. There may be divergent interests but, we must surely achieve good result.
Army Barrack
Nigerian Army now has a barrack in Agbor. Government asked for land for the building of the barrack and Agbor Community met the request. Government has done the survey work ,we hope work will start on the site soon.
Message to Agbor people
ACU thank all our people anywhere in the world for their support, advise and prayer. We urge them to continue to join hands with our Baba and ACU to take Agbor to greater heights.
