It was a manifestation of grace of God for this couple (Mr. & Mrs. Tomson) who live in a room and parlour apartment in Asaba.
Mr. Tomson is an auto-electrician and his wife, a petty trader. The couple was living happily and blessed with two children (bit and girl).
Things began falling apart after arrival of their second child. Business seized to move as usual.
Feeding and paying of house rent became a serious issue. And to worsen the situation, the landlord was on the ‘neck’ of Mr. Tomson. For the situation to improve, it aggravated the more; for this the landlord issued Mr. Tomson a quit notice. The couple, who are from Kwale in Ndukwa West local government area of Delta state, had no option rather than to pack home as things were getting out of hand. And while Mr. Tomson was contemplating of returning to Kwale, the unexpected happened. One day as Mr. Tomson was trekking along Nnebisi road, a Land cruiser Jeep stopped by his side and the occupant wind down the side screen: it was a lady customer that patronizes Mr. Tomson’s workshop. The lady call out “Mr. Tomson why are you trekking and in such a mood”?
And she further asked, “What’s the matter?” After greeting, the lady, Mr. Tomson narrated his ordeals to the lady
The lady was so sympathetic that she gave her business card to Mr. Tomson and asked him to see her next week Saturday morning.
The lady offered Mr. Tomson and the family a two bedroom apartment in one of her buildings at Okpanam. It was like a dream. Mr. &Mrs. Tomson were non plussed. They immediately knelt down giving thanks to God and ad well thanking the lady for her kindness and concern. Apart from giving the Tomson’s accommodation, she also gave one of her cars to Mr. Tomson free to use for taxi business, and opened a standard shop for his wife.
Quite an irony of life you may say – infact it’s really amazing Grace of God – !
See you next week !
