The duo of Mr. Peter Osuhor FHNR and Deacon Joseph Nwanze recently, had an amazing encounter with a philanthropist, Chief Bright Sunday Okoh, a thorough bred son of Ekuku-Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. During the said encounter, series of interesting issues were discussed leading to the foregoing inadvertent interview. The dashing young Chief Okoh, a man with no dull moments and an intimidating mien has been of a stupendous assistance to the Psychiatric Patients and other inmates of the Egotime Wonder of Plants Clinic, Agbor, and which same magnanimity he splashes out on the hospital. Asked to introduce himself to our readers, he gave his names as Chief Bright Sunday Okoh and that he hails from Ekuku-Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. On where he lives, he said he lives at Agbor-Obi in the same local government area. Speaking further about where he lives and his contributions to the development of the community, Chief Okoh said he has contributed so much to the development of his immediate community which explains why he is currently, the vice-chairman of Peace and Unity Landlords Association and for the second year running.
Asked if he has any challenges as a vice chairman, Chief Okoh said there are several challenges and problems and that these include the unwillingness of some residents to cooperate in their collective efforts for a peaceful co-existence and provision of a good road, electricity and other essential amenities.
Chief Okoh asked to veer off to take the opportunity to appreciate the chairman of Peace and Unity Landlords Association, Dr. Ego Ufua, as a man of understanding and a good leader who has the penchant for assisting in the community’s development.
In responding to his relationship with Egotime hospital, Chief Okoh said he has a close personal relationship with the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Ego Ufua, who is also the chairman of his Landlords Association. He added that the sitting of the hospital in its location has helped to open up the community, even as the proprietor is his immediate neighbour.
On why he is often called a philanthropist, Chief Okoh explained that he had been in a situation where he had nothing, suffered lack and no assistance and that as God has lifted him, he made it a compelling personal policy to assist humanity in any which way.
Asked to be specific and give numbers where possible, the young chief said he has assisted nine people to travel abroad and other innumerable people in diverse ways as he was often inundated with calls for assistance and never counted or reckoned with such assistance to humanity.
Enquiring from Chief Okoh to know his impression of the ravaging Coronavirus, he was emphatic that the pandemic is real but, added that Nigerians are still skeptical because they have not seen anybody from their communities, except the elites they hear of on radio and television and read of the pages of newspapers, that are prone to the virus. On his political ambition and or inclination, Chief Okoh said he is yet to be in politics but looks forward to getting involved indue course and while he was still talking about politics, he invited his charming wife, Mrs. Chizoba Okoh a lecturer at Federal College of Education, Enugu in Enugu State, to it. Asked if looking forward to going back to the classrooms soon as a lecturer, Mrs. Chizoba Okoh said she fervently looks forward to going back but that the children lives should not be taken for granted, insisting that the children cannot take care of themselves, even as she said they await government’s directives to go back to school.
