The Delta State Anti-cult Volunteer Corps (AVC), led by Amb. Ogwu Chinuwa Austyne Emuamaka, has said that the group will Partner with the Delta State Orientation Bureau, under the leadership of Barr. Eugene Uzum, in other to bring the needed Sensitization/advocacy that will exterminate cult activities brought by various cult groups and aliens within and around the state.
Ambassador Austyne, on behalf of the group made this known on the 25th of August, 2020, during a courtesy call on the Director-General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Eugene Azuka Uzum, at his office in Asaba.
He noted that Cultism is bringing a lot of trying times regarding insecurity and rootless inhuman situations, and the need to give out the right orientation through sensible intelligence advocacy across to the people of Delta State in understanding the dangerous effects of cultism and the ways to have subsequent combating techniques is important, hence, the visit.
He added that cultism has continued to bring security challenges like kidnaping for ransom, raping of women, armed robbery, loss of lives, oppressions, intimidation etc., and that the AVC will wholeheartedly be grateful for any meaningful partnership with the state orientation bureau to establish a society devoid of cultism through mental infrastructural capacity building of the people.
Responding to the group, the Delta Orientation Boss, Eugene Azuka Uzum, Esq; thanked the group for the visit and opined that it was very timely considering the threat being posed by cultism on a daily basis to the society.
Uzum speaking further pledged the full support of the agency to the group and appealed to all stakeholders to join in preaching the gospel of cultism free society at all levels.
