Ahead of the success of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming local government election in Ika North East Local Government Area, the party has set up a committee to help in the mobilization of its members across the Nineteen (19) DSIEC wards of the LGA.
Speaking, the party LGA chairman, Hon. Obi Moye said the Contact/Mobilization Committee which is headed by Hon. Ekene Kerry is saddled with the responsibility to educate, activate and engaged party members on issues that are more important.
Hon. Moye charged members of the committee on massive mobilization and also embark on aggressive membership drive across the local government, warning party members against divisive tendencies and urged them to pledge their loyalty to his leadership.
He said he has confidence in Hon. Kerry and other members of the committee, noting that they have the capacity and the goodwill to get the job done.
Responding, Hon. Kerry while expressing joy over the turnouts of members to the meeting, said he thought the party was no longer in existence in the LGA. He promised to do his best to ensure a successful reconciliation of aggrieved members and win more people to join the party at the various wards in the LGA.
He used the opportunity to announce to members that the leadership of Obi Moye is never in doubt since he was part of the party congress and insider of the court case that brought him and others.
According to him, “The truth must be told, Hon. Moye is our recognized LGA party chairman both at the federal and state levels. Let us join hands with him to end to factionalism in our party”, he said.
