The All Progressives Congress, APC Ika South Chapter has held her meeting on Saturday 22nd of August, 2020 at the LGA party secretariat along the New Lagos – Asaba Road, Besides NNPC Filling Station, Agbor-Obi, Agbor, Delta State. The meeting was well attended by members from the 12 wards structure of Ika South Local Government Area.
The members of the party during the meeting expressed their worries over the unending bickering among the leadership of the party, but were optimistic that the crisis will give birth to a more formidable and robust structure if well managed ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The Chairman of the party in Ika South, Mr Frank Izekor while welcoming party members to the meeting expressed satisfaction over the large turn out of members, assuring them of a committed resolve to pull the party specifically Ika South Chapter out of the slumbering she found herself due to the ugly situations that have befallen the party in the past, therefore promising to lead the party to greater heights that will guarantee victory in all the coming elections.
He announced the commencement of some reforms that will reposition the party and to make attractive to new members to join in the coming days. The Chairman also charged the Ward Chairmen of the Party to embark on the review and updating of their respective ward party register to determine the strengths of the party in the LGA.
Present at the meeting were the landlords and land ladies of APC, Ika South, Barr. Dr. Felix Morka, pioneer leader of APC Ika South, Mr. Frank Izekor, Chairman APC, Ika South, Mr. Godwin Okpor, APC State Auditor, Chief Barr. C. P. Obuseh, the Oweh of Agbor kingdom, Barr. Festus Ofume, Hon. Grace Aghaulor Isioma, Mr Nathaniel Igwumbor, Mr. Fred Ighomo, DSP Felix Okpu (rtd.), Mr. Joseph Kabaka, LGA secretary, Pst. Kennedy Bienose, LGA Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kelvin Kelubia Egede, LGA Organizing Secretary, Mr. Onyekachukwu Ihator, LGA Youth Leader, Mr. Anthony Erigbe, Chairman of all ward chairmen, all the ward chairmen from the 12 federal wards, other party leaders and stakeholders, party members from the grassroots.
While addressing the marmot crowd gathered at the meeting, Barr. Felix Morka charged party faithfuls to go out and mobilize massively for APC Ika south. Urging all to be resilient, positive, courageous and to shun politics of bickering and continued infighting.
Barr Festus Ofume and Mr Nath Igwubor also took turns to address the party faithfuls.
Recall that the APC family had on Friday attended the burial ceremony of her departed member late Chief S. W. Anumele where the party APC paid the last deserving respect to the late member who was a pioneer member and leader of the party and until his death, a very consistent and committed member of the APC.
Meanwhile, one of the party Chieftains, Comrade Monday Alika was during the week appointed a member of the Ondo State governorship election Committee by the National Chairman of APC Care-taker Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe of Yobe State.
Presenting the certificate of the appointment to the Pioneer Leader of the Party, Barr Felix Morka, Comrade Monday Alika thanked him for providing him with a platform through which he now enjoy a National recognition and promised to join hands with him to build a very strong and formidable party at the LGA.
Barr Felix Morka thanked him for coming and charged him to be a good ambassador of the party and promised him that this will be the beginning of many more opportunities that will be coming to the party faithfuls.
