Selfish Purpose of some men who are so full of themselves, mostly of the black race viz-à-viz Nigeria as a case study. These affluence group of people think of themselves alone. They are self centred human beings.Introverts. To them other persons are inconsequential. And they forgot,that no matter the amount of wealth you acquired in this earth is all vanity upon vanity.
And because these men want their wealth to continue to remain within themselves,they take to arranging of marriages for their sons and daughters not asking themselves if this arranged marriages of their sons and daughters, can the couple live a happy marriage life?.All that matters to them is the continued rotation of their so called wealth among themselves.
From my findings putting investigative journalism into practice, holistically, I noticed that majority of such marriages are muddled in love with problems because the foundation of the marriages were not built on love,in the first place.
This true to life story will further buttress my views. Chief Dike and Chief Ofor(not real names)were family friends right from their days in the northern part of Nigeria. Both men were successful in business. Their children were all graduates and placed in juicy positions. Later Chief Dike and Chief Ofor relocated to their home town in Delta State. Chief Dike returned to Asaba while Chief Ofor also returned to Ibusa and to cement the existing family relationship ,they resorted to arrange a marriage for their son and daughter ,not putting into consideration if such Union could see the light of the day .
Frank is the son of Chief Dike and Vivian, daughter to Chief Ofor. Frank works in a reputable firm in Port- Harcourt, while Vivian works in a bank in Lagos,both families made their intention known to Frank and Vivian .And making sure that things went on smoothly. Vivian was transfered to Asaba branch of her bank and it happened that Frank was on his annual leave.So, weekends, Vivian spent it in Chief Dike place as to get more acquainted to Frank .But the irony of it, Frank never loved Vivian, they were not compatible. The chemistry of Frank and Vivian could not blend and the rest were history. Now you see how selfishness and self-centeredness can go .Chief Dike and Chief Ofor feel the only way to maintain the rotation of their wealth was to arrange marriage for their son and daughter without considering the four letter word love, which is the key and bedrock to a successful marriage life.
