The Proprietor, Ayo Ben Psychiatric Hospital, Agbor, Delta State, Chief(Dr) Ayo Ben has joined his ancestors. The respected community leader passed on last weekend after a brief illnes.
Ayo Ben as he is fondly called, carved a niche for himself at an early age in life when he developed interest in the curing of insane persons in the defunct Bendel State. He established Ayo Ben Psychiatric Hospital, Agbor in 1985 and was seriously committed to his job until the cold hands of death took him away.
Ayo Ben, in his almost four decades of practice cured hundreds of insane persons, some of whom today, are doing well for themselves and families. He also contributed immensely in the ridding of insane persons off the streets and public places in Agbor and its environs. Even in his sick bed,he advocated for the welfare of insane persons not only in his hospital but, other psychiatric hospitals in the state.
Late Chief(Dr) Ayo Ben, the Ezenwali of Akumazi, hailed from Oki, Agbor. He was a Lawn Tennis player and until his Chairman, Agbor Lawn Tennis Club. He was a former chairman, Delta State Trado-Medicine Practitioners Association. He is survived by his wives, children and family members.
