Residents of Delta Development Property Agency (DDPA),also known as, Low Cost Housing Estate,Agbor, have cried out to the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to come to their rescue as pot holes have taken over roads in the estate owing to uncontrollable flood that usually sacks the area any time there is a heavy down pour.
The Landlords in the estate in a statement through the trio: Rotn Francis Ekih, Mr Cyprian Okoduwa and Dr Festus Akpotohwo said that movements around the estate have become very difficult as cars and motorcycles could hardly access the roads. They disclosed that they have over the years through collective efforts applied palliative measures by sand filling the roads, yet no meaningful result has been achieved.
They pointed out that residents of the estate have been very peaceful and supportive of government’s efforts to develop the state, hence, they are appealing to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to come to their rescue.
The Agbor Low Cost Housing Estate, now known as, DDPA is one of the oldest in the state. Unfortunately, it is yet to receive any government attention in the area of road construction. While the estate is being threatened by flood annually, the newly developed DDPA also in Agbor has almost all her roads tarred by the state government. The call on the government to pay urgent attention to Low Cost Housing Estate has become necessary as the area is populated by students and civil servants. The residents promised to remain grateful and supportive of the Okowa’s government if the roads leading to the estate are tarred.
