Sunday, November 15, 2020, was a joyous day of celebration for the General Overseer, Officers and Members of Battle Of Fire Revival Ministries, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, as they held their 2020 Annual Harvest Thanksgiving to thank God for His grace and mercy upon them and their families. The event also coincided with the 63rd Birthday Anniversary Celebration of the Founder of the Church, Rev. Joseph Osayande (JP).
The Harvest Thanksgiving service which took place at the main auditorium of the new church building which is still under construction, located at Number 75, Baleke Street, Agbor, witnessed large turnout of invited guests and members of the church.
Speaking on the message he titled “Honouring God with your sacrifice”, the Guest Speaker Rev. A. Isima, took his Bible reading from the book of Malachi 1:1-14.
Admonishing the congregation, he stated that the day of thanksgiving is meant to thank God for His benevolence and faithfulness through the year, explaining that whenever they come before the altar of the Lord for sacrifice; two things are involved that is either they are blessed or cursed after the exercise. He charged them to always come before the Lord with an acceptable sacrifice; emphasizing that God our father should be honoured with a befitting sacrifice which He will accept; maintaining that they have to be well prepared to offer such sacrifices unto God in order to enjoy His blessings.
Continuing, the man of God, enjoined the gathering to recognize who God is and offer to Him the best of everything they have; disclosing that it is better to sacrifice an acceptable offering to God than to sacrifice to problems and challenges. He emphasized that Giving, open doors for the bountiful blessings of God upon their lives; he encouraged them to cast their bread upon the waters and after many days they shall see how it has multiplied tremendously.
In a brief speech, the General Overseer of the church, Rev. Joseph Osayande JP, appreciated the members for their commitments in the works of God. He thanked God for the growth of the church and for the Lord adding another year to his age, as he celebrated his 63rd birthday on Saturday, November 14, 2020.
Continuing, he informed the congregation that thanksgiving is of a willing mind; while urging them not to be tired of working for the Lord, noting that there are blessings whenever they are involved in the works and services of God. He urged the members not to be weary in their services to God, for they will reap immensely in due season. He encouraged them to look around the church and take up any project that they can handle. He Prayed God to bless them abundantly.
Highpoint of the occasion was the special thanksgiving by the Founder of the church, members of the church and the various groups and departments in the church, who danced in Praise and Worship with great jubilation as they appeared before the Lord with their offerings and farm produce to thank God for His divine protection which kept them alive in good health to celebrate this year’s annual harvest thanksgiving.
The colourful event also featured soul lifting ministration by members of the excellent women and the melodious songs rendition by the church choir which got everyone on their toes in appreciating God.
The event further witnessed the presentation of a sound systems electronic mega phone to the church, by Evang. Paul Ebede, for evangelism.
