Cairo Ojougboh Foundation has donated two 500KVA transformers to Alihame Community, Agbor to help boost electricty generation in the community. The foundation aƧcording to its Co-ordinator, Hon Sunny Nwaolokor , has since inception in 1999 been carrying out different humanitarian activities, part of which are awards of scholarship to indigent students, donations to orphanages and inmates of Nigeria Correctional Service (Nigeria Prisons), including involvement in community development services.
The transformers were officially handed over to Alihame Community by a former lawmaker, Hon Isaac Ulebor, who represented the Chairman of the foundation and Executive Director, Project, NDDC, Chief Dr Cairo Ojougboh.
The ceremony was witnessed by Alihame people, including the elders and members of All Progressives Congress in Ika South Local Government.
Speaking at the ceremony Hon Isaac Ulebor said that the gesture was in fulfilment of the annual activities of Cairo Ojougboh Foundation, which was established to render selfless service to the people.
He disclosed that Chief Dr Cairo Ojougboh has the interest of his people at heart, hence, he is impacting positively on their lives through his foundation. He added that the former Federal lawmaker is working hard to influence the dualization of the Agbor/Sakponba Road.
“My principal, Chief Dr Cairo Ojougboh loves his people and he will continue to contribute meaningfully to their welfare, growth and development. To attest to this, he has through his foundation donated two 500KVA transformers to Alihame Community, Agbor to boost electricty generation in the community. These transformers were not from NDDC but Cairo Ojougboh Foundation. The Foundation every year carries out humanitarian and Community services. Alihame Community is one of the beneficiaries of the gesture of the Cairo Ojougboh Foundation for the year, 2020. He used the medium to announce that the Agbor)/Sakponba Road will be dualized once the NDDC budget is signed.
He called on the people of Alihame to continue to rally round their son, Ojougboh, noting that the NDDC Executive Director, Project will never disappoint his people and Niger Deltans in general.
Earlier the Co-ordinator of the Foundation, Hon Sunny Nwaolokor in his remark said, ” Cairo Ojougboh Foundation was established in 1999 by Chief Dr Cairo Ojougboh, a great and selfless Nigerian who has the interest of his people at heart. Over the years the foundation has carried out many humanitarian and Community development services aimed at improving the lives our people, particularly the downtrodden. The foundation has made remarkable impacts in the areas of education, health, agriculture and Community development services. The two 500KVA transformers donated to Alihame was to help improve the electricty supply in the community.The foundation will continue to identify with Alihame and other communities in this area for the overall development of our people.
Responding on behalf of Alihame Community, its Secretary-General, Pa Nwadozie thanked Cairo Ojougboh Foundation for the gesture, stating that the community will remain eternally grateful to him. While stating that Alihame has been enjoying tremendous love and support from Chief Dr Cairo Ojougboh, he prayed the Almighty God to keep blessing and protecting Ojougboh who holds a traditional title, Akinuwa.
High point of the ceremony was the official hand over of the receipts of the transformers to Alihame Community through its elders.
