While presenting the machines to the Vulcanizers, Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh aka Chuky Dandy expressed his continued intention and desire in making lives better for individuals in the society through little and meaningful ways.
He stressed that he has identified that there are some persons who were once apprentices in the job of Vulcanising that had rounded up their services to their mentors/masters yet unable to begin their own work due to their inability to purchase essential working tools like the Pumping Machine.
He then declared that the purpose of the empowerment/distribution exercise being witnessed is to meet the needs of such persons and help put food on their table by making the machine available for them.
At this point, he called on the respective chairmen of the various chapters of the Vulcanizers Union namely, Mr Ogorchukwu Onyibe (Imeobi chapter),
Mr. Emeke Iyade (Uromi junction chapter)
and Mr Chiyem Ogwu (Agbor Metropolis chapter) to come forward and take delivery of 7 Pumping Machines each which will be delivered to their various Chapter meetings for onward presentation to the new Vulcanizers in their respective chapters who are yet to own a Pumping Machine.
Furthermore, the Lawmaker, who was visibly cheerful while carrying out the empowerment exercise, cautioned the Vulcanizers on the need for them as a group to constitute themselves into Cooperative Societies.
He said that such development will enable them to have a smooth and hitch-free access to grants, loans and other forms of support from corporate organizations, well meaning individuals and governments for the growth and development of their business ventures.
He encouraged them to key into the various programs of government currently being packaged by the Federal and State tiers of Government for the sustenance and growth of their business venture.
Responding on behalf of the general body of Vulcanizers in Agbor, Mr Chiyem Ogwu thanked God for this day describing it as a day for the fulfillment of campaign promise made to them by the Lawmaker while he was on his campaign train prior to his election into the House of Assembly in 2019.
He emphasized that they had actually forgotten about the redemption of the promise but, on behalf of all others, expressed unalloyed and renewed confidence in the Lawmaker for his forthright, focused, redemptive and caring disposition as a Politician and public Servant.
Mr. Chiyem Ogwu assured Hon Chuky Dandy that the entire members of the Vulcanizers Union have been praying for his success and that this act of generosity from him to them has simply renewed their sense of commitment and loyalty to him, stating unequivocally that Chuky’s course is their own course.
In another development, the President General of Abavo Clan Union, Mr. Jonathan Agbejiagwe, today Thursday 29/10/2020 led a strong delegation of Abavians to the residence of the member representing the people of Ika South LGA at the Delta State House of Assembly.
The purpose of the visit, according to the PG, was to convey the hearty appreciation of the Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Obi Uche Irenuma 2, the Obi of Abavo and the entire people of Abavo Kingdom, both home and abroad, to Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh aka Chuky Dandy for his act of kindness and for identifying with the Abavo Kingdom when the Kingdom celebrated the Iwa-Igi (New Yam) festival recently.
He informed the Lawmaker in the presence of the crowd of personalities during the courtesy call that HRM Obi Uche Irenuma is in continuous prayers for him specifically for the brand new Patrol Vehicle, among other things, which the Lawmaker donated to the Abavo Vigilante Group hinting that the donation has truly helped in the drastic reduction of crime and criminality in Abavo Kingdom.
In his contribution, the Chairman of Abavo Vigilante Group, Chief Charles Gboma thanked Hon Chuky Dandy for making the issue of Insecurity in Abavo Kingdom a lesser problem with the donation and presentation of a Patrol Vehicle to the group.
He enthused that the presence of the vehicle has not only been a moral booster to himself and his boys, but that the government security apparatus in Abavo now have high regard for them because they can now respond swiftly to issues alongside the Police.
He prayed God Almighty to also in turn use good men and women to help meet the need and desires of the Lawmaker.
