The management of Command Secondary School, Mbiri, in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State celebrated its 2020 annual graduation prize giving ceremony. This statement was contained by the Commandant of the school, Major Thomas T.A Udom F.S.S (PSC) OLDM. He expressed gratitude to God Almighty for giving the grace to celebrate with graduands, friends and well-wishers from all walks of life on the auspicious occasion, which was titled,” Education as a veritable tool for eradicating unemployment in the society.
Major Udom who made the statement in a chat with pressmen during the graduation and prize giving ceremony at the school compound advised the graduands and the entire students of Command Secondary School,Mbiri to be good ambassadors of the school as they have been nurtured on how to be better citizens in the society.
He enjoined them not to despise their education or lose confidence in themselves as they are moving into the world for greater and better opportunities.
In a related development, Dr D.O.M Uduh re-emphasised the importance of education, which is defined by various authors at various times. According to him, education has to do with teaching, schooling, tutoring, instruction and pedagogy, etc.
Dr Marior noticed that the crusader at the event of education in the society, should championed on what is popularly known as 3RS reading, writing and arithmetic which is within the armbit of arts and humanities, old field of knowledge available to man.
He said that education remains the means to assuage or mitigate unemployment, not withstanding the fact that the more graduates are turn out, so the high number of unemployment, he said.
The Commandant of the school thanked the chairman of the school governing board, 6 division of the Nigerian Army, Major Gen J.O Irefin, the Corps Commander, Nigerian Army Education Corps Major Gen M.M Bunza, Director Education Services, Col A.B Muhammed and all the traditional rulers in Ika nation and Delta State at large. He also commended the soldiers staff of the school all for their meaningful contributions towards the upliftment of Command Secondary School, Mbiri.
