Community appreciates Delta State government
…pleads for more amenities
Basking in the euphoria of a complete school reconstruction project, elders of Emuhu community in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, has expressed appreciation to the State Government for favouring them with the ongoing construction of a twelve classrooms block in their community primary school, Itameze Primary School, Emuhu.
The elders gave the appreciation through a delegation which visited the school on Tuesday, October, 20, 2020.
Speaking on behalf of the delegates, Chief Peter Young said the community was overwhelmed with joy when the construction which they have long clamoured for was approved, adding that with a short period of time, the project has gotten to its roofing stage.
He also said that their joy knew no bound as the school will now ware a new look.
According to him, “we the people of Emuhu community are indeed very thankful to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, The SSG, Mr. Chinedu Ebie, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Patrick Ukah and the member representing Ika South at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, for their efforts in seeing to the reconstruction of our primary school.
“We are not only happy that the demand was approved, but also that the work is moving at a very fast pace. Therefore, we wish to thank all and sundry for giving us this joy which serve as a benefit to all people of Emuhu community.”
Meanwhile, as Oliver twist would always ask for more, Chief Young appealed for more amenities for the school such as; parameter fencing, classroom seats, toilets and functional borehole water system.
He also use the medium to encourage the contractor in charge of the project to take the roof high enough so as ensure long lasting of the roofing shits.
Meanwhile, the School Head teacher and the project engineer, Mrs. Ajeubon M. N. and Engr. Amed respectively, thanked the community elders for their show of love and appreciation to the state government.
They assured them of their full support even as they encouraged the community to find means of protecting the property.
