In other to be victorious in the forthcoming March 6,2021 Local government chairmanship and councillorship election holding March 6 2021, different factions of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) in Ward 8, Ika South, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) Ward 10 have decided to sheathed their swords and collapse into one.
This was made known to newsmen during a meeting at the instance of the APC ward 8 Ika South councillorship aspirant Mr. Emeka Asu
wata held on Sunday February 14,2021 at Azehan Street Agbor Ika South L.G.A.
Addressing party faithful, one of the Chairmen Mr.Julius Effam maintained that it is only when the party is united that they can achieve their aim of taking over from Peoples Democratic Party PDP as he claimed that PDP is already a dead party because the people are tired of their deceit and lies adding that APC is the only party that can bring about positive change in the local government
Continuing Mr. Effam stated that with the combined efforts of the various chairmen, PDP has no chance of smelling the councillorship sit nor the position of the Local Government Chairman as he noted that the party is fully prepared.He said the only antics the PDP is known for is rigging and vote buying maintaining that APC has put in place machinery to checkmate those areas.
Speaking also Mr. Chuks Ukpere urged party members to send the message of the party to the grassroots as he assured that once the ward wins the election two persons from the ward will be given political appointments as he thanked God that the issue of factions have been laid to rest positing that the party os now posed to win election.
The Chairmanship flag bearer of the party Mr. Simon Boi assured that once he win he would make sure the roads in the local government are maintained adding that he also planned to ensure that no fewer that five thousand persons are gainfully employed through his Agricultural programmes and so forth.
Mr.Boi urged party faithfully to disabuse their mind from the notion that the result has already been written as he stressed that nobody can write results pointing out that sometimes it is the people that allow PDP rig the election because many people do not have patience enough to wait until the votes were counted. Adding that it is from such lapses the PDP seize the opportunity to do what they do.
On his part,the ward eight councillorship aspirant Mr.Emeka Asowata notified party faithful that everyone of them is a canvassers therefore they should make sure that on the day of election they should come out enmeshed with their friend to cast their votes.
Continuing he thanked the various chairmen of the defunct factions in the party for agreeing to work together for his sake as he assured that when he assumed office as councillor he will only carry out people oriented projects.
Among those present in the meeting were, Mr. Julius Effam Mr. Aliwueze,Dr. Cyril Ayaiwe, Agholor Fortune; Collins Ogedemgbe Simon Boi Chuks Ukpere and a host of others too numerous to mention.
