Following a statement from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the executive governor of Delta State where it was reported that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife have contacted corona virus, in addition to one of their daughters who tested positive a few days ago, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, Dr Chukwuma O. Nwaonicha, has expressed love to the number one family in the state, praying and wishing them quick recovery.
Nwaonicha who spoke to the press at his residence in Agbor, headquarters of Ika South Local Government expressed concern over the increased rate of Corona virus in the state, advising that more proactive steps and precautionary measures should be applied to the curb the scourge.
According to him, “As a concerned citizen, I am bothered about rising number of Corona virus in Delta State. To the extent that our governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, his wife and daughter tested positive to the virus. I pray for the quick recovery of the governor, his wife and daughter. I also wish all Deltans who were infected and currently undergoing treatments quick recovery too. I advise everyone to be taking full precautionary measures and maintain proper hygiene. Corona virus will not defeat us, with compliance to National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) directives on Corona virus and maintenance of proper hygiene we shall get over the virus.”
