His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I, the Dein of Agbor,
has expressed appreciation to the national Chairman, CEFO Productions and Chief Executive Officer, Ika Film Village, Agbor-Nta, Mr Percy Monday Edoki for his immense contributions towards the growth of the Nigerian movie industry. The revered Agbor monarch also commended Nollywood for helping to build the Nigerian entertainment industry to an enviable height.
The Royal Father gave the commendations when he received Mr Monday Percy Edoki and his Nollywood team in his palace, at Ime-Obi last Sunday, October 11.
” I’m happy that the Nigerian movie industry ( Nollywood) is moving forward. The industry has indeed helped to take the Nigerian entertainment industry to an enviable height. I commend you all and my son, Mr Monday Percy Edoki for the various roles you have been playing to achieve this great feat.”
Dein Keagborekwuzi I, while saying that as a monarch he will not hesitate to give his support to Edoki and Nollywood, he advised that the industry should always project the positive side of the traditional institution and Nigeria at large.
Earlier in his address, Mr Monday Percy Edoki expressed gratitude to Dein Keagborekwuzi I, for the growth and development of Agbor. He said that Dein, as a first class monarch has brought limelight to Agbor Kingdom. He prayed the Almighty God to give the Agbor monarch more wisdom, good health and strength as he reigns on the throne.
Edoki’ address reads, “We have no doubts in your capabilities on your achievements, based on your wealth of experience as a key player in the Nigerian project. Let me at this point state that as the representative of our Agbor people we stand to say that you have done well so far, your developmental stride across Agbor kingdom speak volumes especially, in the area of security, which has contributed immensely in reducing crime rate in Agbor.
“Your Royal Majesty, may wish to be informed that CEFO Productions has about nine branches in Nigeria and three other countries including, Benin Republic, Cameron and Zambia with her headquarters in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
“CEFO Productions being part of Nollywood is revered to have produced some of the greatest and finest leaders in various part of the country’s social, economic and political life. We of the CEFO Productions have been particularly blessed with the presence of a large number of members who belonged to early generation of Nollywood have contributed in no small measure to the growth of the nation and other countries where we are currently carrying out our activities.
“Permit me to state that CEFO has contributed immensely to the national economy by giving out employments daily to our youths, men,women which has reduced crime rate in Agbor kingdom where CEFO operates. It may interest Your Royal Majesty to note that since inception in 1998. CEFO Productions has done so much to the people in Ika especially, in Agbor kingdom.
“CEFO activities include;
Sports: Female football was introduced to Ika nation by CEFO production. In 2010,CEFO Productions organized the first Agbor female football competition whose venue was Agwai Primary School, Aliagwai, while the winner was Agbor-Nta Queen. After this, some players were selected and registered for National Amateur League with the help of Hon. Hilary Ibude. The girls saw the light of the day and they were among the teams that qualified from Amateur to Professional League. At this point, the club was named after the wife of Hon. Hilary Ibude, which is known as Clara Ibude Angels.
” In 2013, CEFO also trained some selected girls from rural villages in Ika kingdom and registered them in the National Amateur League, under the name “Abundance Queens of Agbor”. Based on this, the National Sport Tournament was played here in Agbor Township Stadium involving all states from the federation,while Abundant Queens of Agbor took the first position by beating the Yaba Queens of Lagos by one goal to nil. From this tournament, my Royal Majesty, the Agbor goal keeper was rated the best keeper for the tournament and she was selected for Coastal Rica World Cup.
” It is sad to note that the two professional female teams founded by CEFO are no longer in existence, because of lack of sponsorship, despite huge amount invested by me in organizing the teams. It is also our wish to inform His Royal Majesty that Nollywood exist in Agbor,as a result of sacrifice made by CEFO Productions because CEFO has engaged legends of Nollywood on a weekly basis to Agbor for production. CEFO Productions have birthed some of this upcoming production houses currently operating in Agbor.
At present, CEFO Productions has produced over 100 movies in Agbor,90% of the movies are currently in YouTube and DSTV Channels. We have also shot a movie titled,”Battle for Freedom”, the story of Bini, Ikas and the white men.
“CEFO Productions has brought in fourteen Hollywood actors and crew from America last year August 9 to September 11,2019, where they shot one of the African epic movies titled, “Jenoma” at Agbor-Nta Film Village”.
