-Commends level of work at Police Area Command, Agbor
It was a historic royal visit on Wednesday, August 19,2020 as the Police Area Command in Agbor played host to the Dein of Agbor, His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I. The revered Royal Father was accompanied in the visit by his newly conferred Chiefs.
Welcoming His Majesty to his office on behalf of the Command, the Area Commander, ACP Imeh Udofia expressed joy, stating that he is honoured to have the Agbor monarch in his office. He noted that Dein Keagborekwuzi I, as a first class King is a blessing not only to Agbor but Nigeria at large.
He disclosed that his office is working hard to combat crime in the area just as he commended the synergy between the police and the Agbor Royal Palace.He assured that the police will continue to do her best to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the area.
Responding, Dein Keagborekwuzi I, thanked the Police Area Commander, ACP Imeh Udofia and the Agbor Divisional Police Officer, CSP Enwelikwu Rex for their untiring efforts in the fight against crime in Agbor, urging them to keep on with the good work. He said he will continue to join efforts with the police to make Agbor a safe haven for everyone to live in.
The Royal Father used the medium to appreciate the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, his Deputy, Barr Kingsley Otuaro for their sterling leadership styles that have promoted peace in the state.He called for a collective support for the police particularly in the area of welfare. He noted that if the police is adequately catered for and equipped, maximum service delivery will be achieved.
His Majesty alongside his Chiefs toured the permanent site of Police Area Command in Agbor where there is an ongoing building projects. He was shown round the site by the Police Area Commander, ACP Imeh Udofia and the contractor handling the construction projects, Engr Ben Okolie.
The Royal Father thanked the sponsor of the building projects, Jim Ovia Foundation (JOF) for contributing towards Agbor development. He urged the contractor to makes sure he he did a good job and deliver at specification.
In an interview, the MD/CEO Benjamin Franklin Construction Company (BFCC), Engr Ben Okolie disclosed that the building projects include: residential houses for rank and files, Boys Quarters and a police post. He promised that his company will not only do a good job but also deliver at specification.
Meanwhile, His Majesty paid an unscheduled visit to Ika South Local Government Council Secretariat, Agbor where he was warmly welcomed by the Chairman, Hon(Barr)Victor Okoh, his Deputy, Hon(Mrs) Patience Agborma and the Secretary, Barr Solomon Kosonye.
The respected traditional ruler used the medium to inspect the level of work at the Edike Street neighborhood market where he commended Victor Okoh and his executive for the initiative. He advised that the market should be for the benefit of people in the local government when completed.
