Calls for standard work
It was a royal tour on Wednesday, September 9 as His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I, the Dein of Agbor, inspected a collapsed portion at the Edike Street Temporary Market in Agbor. The market which is still under construction recorded a slim set back during a heavy down pour on Tuesday evening, September 8 with the collapsed of a part that was allocated to traders a day before the incident.
The revered Agbor monarch was accompanied in the inspection visit by his Ndichen and Idibo Dein Chiefs. The Royal Father was shown round the affected part of the market by the executive Chairman of Ika South Local Government Council, Hon(Barr) Victor Okoh.
Dein Keagborekwuzi 1, after the inspection thanked God that the incident did not claim any life. While commending the initiative of the Ika South Local Government Council to build a market for the teeming populace in Agbor, the traditional ruler called for a standard job. He said that the only way the people will enjoy government projects is when an approved standard is maintained. He advised that any contractor who fails to deliver a quality work should be santioned.
The Royal Father was also at the popular Musa Market and CTC Markets in Agbor where he was received by a mamoth crowd of traders.He enjoined the traders to always put on their face masks as the scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet. He urged them to support government efforts in building befitting markets for them.
The Ika South Local Government Council Chairman, Hon(Barr) Victor Okoh in his remark thanked the Dein of Agbor, saying that he was honoured with the visit of the Agbor monarch. He assured the King that his administration would ensure that a quality job is done at the Edike Street Temporary Market.
