…dedicates victory to God, Okowa

The immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ika South Chapter, Hon. Collins Bello, has added feather to his cap after been elected as the State Financial Secretary of the party at a well organized state Congress held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Asaba.
The political icon who is the Executive Chairman, Delta State Ministry of Arts & Culture, was elected unopposed in the congress which also saw 38 officers elected into the respective PDP state executive positions.
It was indeed, a successful congress for the party as stakeholders from nooks and crannies of Delta State, including the Executive Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, participated in the exercise conducted with strict compliance and observance of all Covid-19 guidelines and protocols.
In an address presented by the number citizen of the party, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, he called on all to sustain the virtues of the party which attributes, according to him, has guided the party to successes, particularly at elections.
The governor, who expressed gladness while applauding the peaceful conduct of the congress, acknowledged that Delta State has once again proven to be well organized people, thus, he was proud of the successes recorded so far.
He said, “I thank God for the very peaceful congress in our state, the ward and local government”, saying that Delta State had shown that “we are organized people; we are proud of the successes recorded so far.
“I thank you because as always, you have proved that we truly understand politics, and because we truly understand politics, we will continue to win because God is always on our side.
“Since the formation of this great party, consensus building has always been our strength and I thank God that collectively, in our various local government areas, we have all agreed and elected 39-member State Executive for the party.
“Our strength is in our collective will because, you are there at the various units, wards, and local government areas,” Okowa said.
Speaking further, Gov. Okowa cautioned the political class to exercise caution ahead of 2023, saying “we were elected to work and provide dividends of democracy for the people and there is a lot of time ahead of us.”
The governor also commended the immediate past executive committee of the party in the state for a job well done and I can attest to the fact that you did very well.
“I thank all of you so well because you have done very well.”
The governor also, did not fail to appreciate Deltans who prayed for him and his family when they were hit by the novel Coronavirus.
In a parley with newsmen, the newly elected PDP State Financial Secretary, Hon. Collins Bello, expressed excitement.
He attributed his election victory to the Almighty God and Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa who he said, had favoured him with wisdom and experience in politics.
He also thanked all the party delegates amongst other stakeholders, particularly from Ika South LGA for their support.
He assured of delivering his service with dignity just as he affirmed that the supremacy of the party would not be undermined.
