Delta State Ibo Women Association of Atlanta Inc donates food items,cash to widows in Delta North.
It was all joy amidst appreciation to the Almighty God as Delta State Ibo Women Association of Atlanta Incorporated on Thursday, June 4, 2020 donated food items and cash to widows drawn from the nine local government areas that make up Delta North(Anioma).The items are rice, beans, salt and onions. amount Undisclosed of cash were also given to the beneficiaries numbering up to two hundred.
The epoch ceremony which took place in Boji-Boji,Owa, in Ika North East Local Government was witnessed by Chief(Mrs) Patience Mosieri, Chief(Mrs) Christy Isibor, Peter Eze Okoro, Dr Pauline Tibi, Mrs Aleh who was accompanied by members of her Ika Women Vanguard, Hon Blessing Emefiele,among others.
Addressing the beneficiaries before the presentation of the items and cash to them, Chief(Mrs) Patience Mosieri thanked Delta State Ibo Women Association of Atlanta Incorporated for identifying with their people at home particularly in this period of Covid-19 pandemic.She described members of the Atlanta based association as humane and loving persons whose love for their people at home knows no bound.She commended the association for the selfless services to their people back home, especially in the areas of education and health care.She urged the association to keep on with the good work as posterity will remember them for good.
Speaking further,Chief(Mrs) Mosieri advised the beneficiaries to comply fully with Government directives on the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that the virus is real. She used the medium to call on wealthy Anioma persons to emulate Delta State Ibo Women Association of Atlanta Incorporated by rendering assistance to the poor and downtrodden in the society.She expressed hope that the Covid-19 pandemic will end soon.
On his part, Mr Peter Eze Okoro while speaking at the ceremony said that the Delta State Ibo Women Association of Atlanta Incorporated is fully committed to the welfare and well-being of their people at home. He stated that the association as part of her contributions to their people in this Covid-19 pandemic period distributed face masks, food items and cash to some widows in Delta North.He enjoined the beneficiaries to always apply precautionary measures and avoid anything that will make them contact coronavirus.While thanking members of the association for their kind gesture, he prayed the Almighty God to keep blessing them to enable them do more for their people.
Delta State Ibo Women Association of Atlanta Incorporated was founded ten years ago by Mrs Mary Azuh.The current President of the association is Mrs Ulo Obiadiaro and Mrs Josephine Ijeh as Vice-President and Mrs Blessing Aliu, Social Director.
