The Chairman, Okpe Community, Abavo, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade John Ujomah has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to review the strategies approach to security in the country, adding the prevailing situation across the length and breadth of the country requires new ideas to bring about peace and development in the country.
The chairman made the statement in an interaction with the Journalists at his country home at Okpe Community during the celebration of the independent 60th Anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence.
Comrade Ujomah John said that the Church has continued in its drive for renewed action and wholesome reawakening on matters bordering on socio economic well being through its various advocacy programmes.
The Comrade noticed that it was a civic engagement programme designed to provide – solution to challenges overhearing Nigerians since the advent of the Pandemic, most especially the effect and challenges posed by the coronavirus on the society economy and religions belief.
He used the medium to appeal to the Delta State Government led by Governor Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) Chiefs, Churches, well meaning citizens of Okpe Community both at home and in the diasporas to come to the aid of Okpe community people in terms of the provision of socio-amenities, such as the construction of Abavo, Okpe to Ekuku-Agbor road, he strongly appealed for youths empowerment, which any of the youths in Okpe Community have not benefited since the inception of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.
He charged the youths to develop themselves mentally for national development.
