— Police stigmatized, weakened, demoralized and demonized
— Government’s institutions destroyed
— Banks attacked and looted
— Inter-State and inter-regional trade paralyzed
— International trade collapsed
— Foreign adversaries of Nigeria emboldened
— Foreign sanctions and hostility invited
— Looting and criminality normalized
Consequences?
— Economic depression
— Hyperinflation
— Deepening poverty, inequality and impoverishment
— Food scarcity and hunger
— Worsening corruption
— Burgeoning unemployment
— High increases in violent crimes, especially kidnapping and armed robbery
— Increasing ethno religious conflicts
— Infrastructural decay
— Homelessness
— Landlessness
— State failure
— Another cycle of uncertainty, anger, chaos and social turmoil
Internet warriors, these are what you have caused. You didn’t use your anger to reform Nigeria. You used your anger to destroy Nigeria. Let’s be wise, strategic and Pragmatic next time we want to protest.
