The above assertion by Naveen Jain, rightly describes the person of Dr Donald Peterson, who has come to Ika Nation with a disruptive mindset and innovative thinking to take philanthropy to the next level.
And he is succeeding, through his D-Peterson Foundation, he is touching and changing lives through entrepreneurial insights and creative opportunities for the people.
D-Peterson Foundation is a non-political/non-profit making organization founded in the year 2019 by the President/Founder, Dr. Donald Peterson.
The core objectives of the Foundation are adding values through human capacity development and capacity building programme with special focus in Education, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Environment and Entertainment.
D-Peterson Foundation is committed to making the youths more productive by unlocking and harnessing potentials for sustainable growth and development.
The Journey so far…
Information and Communication Technology (ICT):
D-Peterson Foundation Institute of Information Technology (DPFIIT): This is the vehicle through which the ICT program of D-Peterson Foundation is driven.
On the 15th of February, 2020, D-Peterson Foundation in conjunction with College of Education, Agbor now University of Delta (Unidel) launched a Computer Appreciation and Software Development Programme with special emphasis on Python language for the training of youths.
So far, the graduation ceremony of the fist batch of the beneficiaries will soon be slated.
On the 13th of February, 2021, D-Peterson Foundation Institute of Information Technology (DPFIIT) commenced the training of Teachers in Ika land on Computer appreciation with the aim of making the teachers computer literate.
Another set of beneficiaries of this ICT program are the members of Rotary Club of Agbor. The first set of its members were trained on Data Processing Analysis (DPA) and their graduation ceremony will soon be made known.
It is important to state as well that the training and lectures of these programs are at no cost to the beneficiaries as everything is fully funded by the Foundation.
EDUCATION/SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS:
The Foundation has sponsored and is currently sponsoring the following persons in various institutions around the globe.
NZE DANIEL NMOYE:
Nze Daniel Nmoye, from Ogbeisere, Ime- Obi, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria has just graduated with a first class from the National Aerospace University, Kharkov Aviation Institute, Ukraine.
This feat was made possible courtesy of D- Peterson Foundation who offered him full scholarship in 2016.
The Foundation has further extended his scholarship to University of Calgary, Canada for his Masters and PhD programme.
Daniel is reputed to be the first Ika person to have graduated with a first class in Aerospace Engineering.
MISS UMEH SANDRA AMAECHI:
The Foundation also offered Umeh Sandra Amaechi, an NCE French graduate from College of Education, Agbor was offered scholarship for her degree programme up to her PhD level.
Sandra is presently undergoing her Degree programme at the Delta State University, Abraka
EWERE OKONTA:
Ewere Okonta, recently bagged his MSc in Business Administration from Wellspring University, Benin City. He is on scholarship from the Foundation up to his PhD level.
SANTO OSSAI FAMILY:
Mr Santo Ossai an Agbor based taxi driver who resides along Baleke by Aghakun junction with his family, he is originally from Ogume in Ndokwa west local Government Council of Delta state but was born and brought up in Agbor had his 4 daughters on scholarship from the Foundation, the scholarship covers up to their PhD levels. The girls are:
MERCY CHINEYE OSSAI:
Mercy Ossai, 24 years old and currently a student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, studying in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT).
FAVOUR CHIAMAKA OSSAI:
Favour Ossai, 20 years old and also a student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi- Uku. She presently in her National Diploma (ND2), Department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT)
MIRACLE AMARACHI OSSAI:
Miracle Ossai, 17 years old, SSS2 student of Word of Faith Group of Schools. Her scholarship also runs to her PhD level.
SUCCESS OSSAI:
Success Ossai, 7 years old. She has an ambition of becoming a medical doctor. Her scholarship also runs to PhD level.
UTALOR FAVOUR:
Favour Utalor, a student of Delta State University is currently on scholarship from the Foundation.
CHRISTIAN CHUKS:
Christian Chuks was the former President, National Association Ika Students and currently a student of Delta State University. He is also on scholarship with the Foundation.
PRECIOUS EGILIWE:
Precious Egiliwe, a wonderful smart kid. Currently on scholarship from the Foundation and his scholarship runs to PhD level.
MIRACLE AMARACHUKWU PIUS:
Miracle Pius, 200 level student of Industrial Chemistry, University of Port- Harcourt (Uniport). Currently on scholarship from the Foundation.
EDEN CHIAMAKA PIUS:
Eden Pius is currently on scholarship with the Foundation.
EDOBOR PRECIOUS:
Precious is currently on scholarship with the Foundation.
JOYCE NONSO IFEANYI:
Joyce is presently a medical student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. Her scholarship from the Foundation
runs from her Degree to PhD.
PRECIUOS IFEANYI:
Precious is a student of Delta State University, Abraka. The Foundation has offered him scholarship that will run to his PhD.
PROGRESS OKEREKE:
Progress is presently studying Psychology at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. His scholarship from the Foundation will also run to PhD.
FESTUS ICHAZU:
Festus is currently the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) of the College of Education, Agbor and a post graduate student is on scholarship from the Foundation.
GIDEON MARIOCHUKWU: Gideon is a student of Delta State University, he is currently on scholarship from the Foundation.
Anthony Abanimoro:
Anthony is a post graduate student of University of Benin, he is also on scholarship from the Foundation.

D-PETERSON FOUNDATION EXTRA-MURAL CLASSESS:
The extramural classes were approved by the Delta State Government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, so far, the programme has started at Ogbemudien Model School and at Noisere Primary School, Ime Obi.
The classes run from Monday’s to Thursday’s from 4pm – 6pm. While Saturdays lecture is 9am -2pm.
The classes are free and open to all Ika Youths who are desirous of writing their NECO, WAEC and JAMB with ease.
The Foundation is making plans to open more centers in all the wards in Ika Nation.
TRAINING OF IKA YOUTH IN FILM PRODUCTION:
The Foundation, through D-Peterson film academy is presently training some Ika youths on the rudiments of acting and movie productions.
This is done with the aim of fighting underemployment and unemployment in Ika land.
The Foundation also has a vision of building a movie academy in Ika land very soon.
DELTA STATE SKILL ACQUISITION TRAINING CENTER AT MBIRI
Over 100 youths has successfully undergone training and has acquired different skills at this Center courtesy of D- Peterson Foundation
CBN SPONSORED SKILL ACQUISITION TRAINING CENTER AT THE AGBOR TECHNICAL COLLEGE:
D-Peterson Foundation is currently sponsoring 135 youths at this center with the intent of exposing the beneficiaries to different skills for them to not only becoming self reliant but by becoming employers of labour.
FUMIGATION OF OBI IKENCHUKU ROAD/ORIKEZE AVENUE:
D-Peterson Foundation has also fumigated the Obi Ikenchuku Road, Orikeze Avenue and the Agbor Royal Palace against malaria parasite.
INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS):
D-Peterson Foundation has organized a preliminary IELTS exams for Ika indigenes who are interested in migrating to foreign countries like Canada.
Presently, lectures have commenced at the University of Delta, Agbir for the youths to be trained on proficiency in English language to enhance their performance in the IELTS exams.
REPAIR OF ROADS:
The Foundation has periodically repaired some damaged roads along the Mariere by Isedeh Junction in the Agbor metropolis.
It has also repaired the damaged portions along the Edike street, Orikeze Avenue all along the Obi Ikenchuku Road, Ime Obi, Agbor.
STREET LIGHT PROJECT:
Orikeze Avenue is lighted up at night for the past two years’ courtesy of the Foundation. This has greatly improved economic activities along that corridor.
Very the project would be extended to other streets.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
The Foundation has employed over 32 person Ika persons through direct and indirect employment and majority of them are street sweepers along Orikeze Avenue.
Orikeze Avenue is reputed as the only street in Ika South that is swept every day.
