It was indeed an enlightenment and mind blowing event,as the Founder of African Foundation For Mental Health Advocacy,with office at Number 21 Convent Lane,Boji-Boji,Owa, Delta State, Dr. Victor Daniel celebrated world mental health day in a grand style. He did this by carrying out a rally across Ika Federal Constituency. The auspicious celebration took place on Saturday, October 10,2020 .
While addressing pressmen, Dr. Victor Daniel said that the essence of the celebration was to create awareness among the people of Ika nation, stating that stigma is no more for mental challenged people, as they can handle it medically.
“The mental challenged people should not hide themselves any more, rather they should show themselves, so that we can help them. There is no sickness that cannot be cured. Mental disorder is not only pertain to those who are mentally derailed but also, for those who are psychologically devastated and emotional broken down, as a result of thinking, heart break, depression and stress. They should always call on us,as we are willing to help them out of it”, he noted.

He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to build a psychiatric hospital in Ika Federal Constituency, so as to enable them carry out proper treatment of mental patients.
Also, the father of the convener, Chief Daniel Agbobu who is a chief of Owa kingdom and retired Lecturer, College of Education, Agbor encouraged parents not to abandon and stigmatize their mental challenged children but take good care of them, stressing that they should always stand by them, as this to him will go a long way in healing them.
