It was a joyous moment of celebration and spiritual reawakening as Eckankar, a religious organization whose teachings on the path of spiritual freedom has greatly enhanced the well being of mankind; held her 2020 Agbor Harji Dinner.
The Harji dinner which had the theme, “Discover The Mahanta”, was the maiden edition of such get together party. In attendance were notable members of the organization and privileged invited guests who had the best of fun and entertainment at the ceremony, which took place at the main hall of Pace Hotel, located along Charles Street, Agbor; on Saturday 17th October 2020.
The dinner party, though modest because of the Covid-19 protocols featured lectures on several interesting topics which included; “Experience The Wonders Of HU”, “Reciting Of The HU Song” and Musical interlude.
During their presentation, Azani Nwabukwu and Igbetu Omezi, the resource persons who spoke on the topic “Experience The Wonders Of HU”, disclosed that the HU is a love song to God, explaining that singing HU can expand a person’s awareness; Helps one to experience divine love; Heals a broken heart; Offers solace during times of grief and bringing with it inner peace.
The duo noted that when a person has a hard day after singing the HU, it puts the individual back in line with the Holy Spirit.
In his presentation, the Guest Speaker, Mr. Patrick King, who gave a talk on the theme of the day’s program, “Discover The Mahanta”, stated that Eckankar is the University of all the religions that we hear about; maintaining that The Mahanta is the Living Eck Master. Continuing, he revealed that the Mahanta doubles as the Inner and Outer Master; saying that the Inner Master is the Eck personified in the light and sound of God who teaches them spiritual knowledge and awareness. As an Outer Master, he stated that The Mahanta is the spiritual leader of Eckankar, the God man of our time, the competent Master whose major duty is to lead mankind out of bondage.
Speaking further, Mr. King, outlined the benefits of Mahanta; saying that singing of the HU song enables the individual to experience spiritual protection; Through the help of the Mahanta you begin to enjoy inner peace and contentment; emphasizing that it gives the individual a change of consciousness to know many things.
Mr. Patrick King, enjoined interested members of the public to register their membership with Eckankar; assuring that they will never regret joining the forum in having an in-depth understanding of the Ancient Wisdom For Today.
Mr. Lawrence Okpara, while taking the toast stated that they were taking the toast in honour of The Mahanta the Living Eck Master for his teachings of love and their loving relationship with him; “we have taken a toast to those of us who are here in quest of spiritual knowledge and the well being of everyone; we toast to the teachings of Eck that brings spiritual awareness; we toast to those who may be able to do everything in search of spiritual awareness and we toast for all of us for our good health”; he concluded.
