Mr Monday Percy Edoki is a household name as far as the entertainment industry is concerned in Ika land. The Agbor born entertainment guru is the national President and Chief Executive Officer, CEFO Productions, a leading movie production company in Delta State.
CEFO production being part of Nollywood açcording to Edoki, ” is revered to have produced some of the greatest and finest leaders in various part of the country’s social, economic and political life. CEFO production has been particularly blessed with the presence of a large number of members who belonged to early generation of Nollywood have contributed in no small measure to the growth of the nation and other countries where we currently carrying out our activities
He further said, “Permit me to state that CEFO has contributed immensely to the national economy by giving out employments daily to our youths, men,women who have reduced crime rate in Agbor Kingdom where CEFO operates. CEFO Productions has done so much to the people in Ika land.
CEFO activities include;
Female football was introduced to Ika nation by CEFO production. In 2010,CEFO production organized the 1st Agbor female football competition whose venue was Agwai Primary School, Aliagwai, while the winner was Agbor-Nta Queen. After this, some players were selected and registered for National Amateur League with the help of Hon. Hilary Ibude. The girls saw the light of the day and they were among the teams that qualified from Amateur to Professional League. At this point, the club was named after the wife of Hon. Hilary Ibude, which is known as Clara Ibude Angels.
Two. In 2013, CEFO also trained some selected girls from rural villages in Ika kingdom and registered them in the National Amateur League, under the name “Abundance Queens of Agbor”. Based on this, the National Sport Tournament was played here in Agbor Township Stadium involving all states from the federation, while Abundance Queens of Agbor took the first position by beating the Yaba Queens of Lagos by one goal to nil. From this tournament, my Royal Majesty, the Agbor goal keeper was rated the best keeper for the tournament and she was selected for Coastal Rica World Cup.
Three. It is sad to note that the two professional female teams founded by CEFO are no longer in existence, because of lack of sponsorship, despite huge amount invested by me in organizing the teams.
Four. It is also our wish to inform His Royal Majesty that Nollywood exist in Agbor,as a result of sacrifice made by CEFO production because CEFO has engaged legends of Nollywood on weekly basis to Agbor for production. CEFO production have birth to some of this upcoming production houses currently operating in Agbor.
As at present, CEFO production has produced over 100 movies in Agbor,90% of the movies are currently in YouTube and DSTV Channels. We have also shot a movie titled,”Battle for Freedom”, the story of Bini, Ikas and the white men.
CEFO brought in fourteen Hollywood actors and crew from America last year August 9 , during which period one of the African epic movie titled, “Jenoma” was shot at Agbor-Nta Film Village.
“It was an outpour of commendations on August 10, this year as the Agbor Nta Film Village, was commissioned. The commendations were on the National President, CEFO, Mr. Percy Monday Edoki who through a dint of hard work and focus built the film (Nollywood) Village, the first in Agbor and Ika Land as a whole.
The Nollywood Village which is largely targeted at the productions of epic movies houses a good number of buildings erected with bamboos, raffia palms and mud.
Speaking shortly after the commissioning ceremony, an ace Nollywood actor, Mr. Harry B. Anyanwu said, “Monday Percy Edoki has done very well in Nollywood industry. He has contributed in no small measure towards the growth and development of the movie industry in Nigeria.
He deserves commendations because he has done well. We will work together to ensure the continued success of Nollywood and also make sure that Ika Film Village becomes a beehive of activities. We are using this medium to appeal to government and well meaning Nigerians to support Nollywood financially.”
A respected community leader, Dr Victor Ikpon in an interview at the film village said, I am proud to identify with my dear brother and friend, Mr. Monday Percy Edoki for this great achievement, which is the establishment of the Ika Film Village. He is a worthy son and ambassador of Ika Land. I wish him all the best in his well deserved Nollywood career.”
For Rev. Fr. Victor Ibude, he prayed for Mr. Monday Percy Edoki and wished him God’s continued blessing, guidance, wisdom and good health. While commending Edoki, he declared that the Ika Film Village will blossom and achieve her aims to the glory of the Almighty God.
On the part of the National Vice-President of CEFO and a popular Nollywood actor, Mr. Ed Ifeanyi Nnasor, “CEFO has come to stay. The establishment of the Ika Film Village is a boost to what we are going to achieve in the future. I commend the National President of CEFO; Mr. Monday Percy Edoki for his vision and drive to succeed as far as CEFO is concerned. We will keep doing our best towards the growth of the Nollywood industry.”
Another ace Nollywood actor who spoke to newsmen, Mr. Amechi Muonagor described Monday Percy Edoki as a blessing to the Nollywood industry, adding that the Ika Film Village will create room for the discovery of new talents. He commended efforts being made by Edoki for the growth of Nollywood in Ika Land. He wished the Agbor born movie director and actor well in all his endeavors.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Monday Percy Edoki said he is poised to make Ika Land a Nollywood hub in Delta State.
He disclosed that CEFO Productions, since inception has produced over six hundred and thirty movies. He promised to continue to do his best towards the advancement of the Nollywood industry.
He thanked all those who have identified with him in different ways, noting that the Ika Film Village will not only be an entertainment hub but, also announce Ika Land to the outside world.
