The annual event tagged: Nollywood Golden Award 2022 will hold on Saturday, 29th October at Golden Cocktail Hotel, Agbor, Delta State.
The National Coordinator of the event, Percy Monday Edoki while briefing the press in Asaba, the headquarters of Delta State on Wednesday, 19th October, 2022 stated that himself and the good people of Agbor Kingdom are set for the hosting of the 10th edition of Nollywood Golden Award, 2022, adding that fifteen personalities from Nollywood and other organisations have been selected to be honoured.
He said Nollywood Golden Award is based on merit. Nominations are strictly on recommendations by the general public who on their own make nominations.
“The awards are classified into different categories. We pick people from the Nollywood Industrial, we also consider some individuals, organisations and communities that support Nollywood in making of their movies. We still look at the efforts of the security agencies and that of the traditional rulers. But this year, we also consider the activities of the Local Government support on entertainment and also consider the humanitarian services of health workers. These group of persons and organisations were nominated for this year’s Golden Awards.
“We have a total number of 21 awardees for this year’s event. Out of the 21, organisations are six while individuals are 15,” he stated.
The awardees are: Ebele Okaro (Nollywood) Amechi Muonagor (Nollywood) Onny Micheal (Nollywood) Uju Okoli (Nollywood) Chigozie Nwoye (Nollywood) Elvis Chibuikem (Nollywood), Ebenezer Onyeagwu (Banker), Chief Chuks Okwuokenye, (Inneh of Owa, (Supporter to Nollywood),Chief Wilson Oni Agbobu (the Eka Dein Menim of Agbor kingdom) (Supporter to Nollywood), Hon. Sunny Tatabuzuogwu (Repressnting Council Chairmen of Nigeria), Mrs. Uche Mary Momoh Ogwu (representing the humanitarian services to the community by Health Care Center),. Others include, the Area Commander, Nigeria Police Agbor and Chief Ika Etumuse based in United States of America.
While some organisations who were considered to be honoured based on their humanitarian services to community and entertainment industry are: Water Park, Ewuru Agbor, Donald Peterson Foundation, Hotel De Sonia and Abundance Table Bottle Water. During the ceremony the African Movie Makers Practitioners from Zambia will be honouring the CEFO National President, Mr Percy Monday Edoki with the best African epic movie producer of the year 2022.
The award ceremony is expected to be attended by top Nollywood stars, comedians, personalities from all walks of life including His Royal Majesty, the Dein of Agbor who is the Royal Father of the day. The ceremony is expected to start by 5pm with red carpet. It will feature cultural dance, jokes, talks and many more.
