– Celestine Onyibe
A former lawmaker, Ika South Legislative Arm and popular youth leader in Ekuku-Agbor, in Ika South Local Government, Hon Celestine Onyibe, has again on behalf of his community, cried out to government at all levels to help address the aged long electricty problem in the community. Onyibe who spoke to journalists during the week at Agbor frowned at the Ekuku-Agbor electricity problem, disclosing that the C ommunity has been without electricity for more than thirteen years.
He said, “Ekuku-Agbor is oil producing Community and a food basket in Delta State, yet it has been without electricity power supply for more than thirteen years. Ekuku-Agbor is peaceful and supports government, unfortunately, it has been abandoned. Why other communities in Delta State enjoy government projects and infrastructures, Ekuku-Agbor is left to suffer her own fate. Apart from the issue of electricity, Ekuku-Agbor has no good road network, no functional health care, no good market and pipe borne water.”
“As a concerned citizen of Ekuku-Agbor I am seriously appealing to government at all levels to please come to the rescue of my community, Ekuku-Agbor.
”My community is part of Ika South Local Government Council and Delta State yet, it has no single executed project. We have people who are busy promoting development in other towns and villages but, unfortunately, abandoned their own Community, Ekuku-Agbor, a fast growing town. We are going to resist any attempt to draw Ekuku-Agbor backward”.
Hon Onyibe stated that he has been playing his part to ensure the restoration of electricity at Ekuku-Agbor but, better results will be achieved when more persons joined in the struggle.
While thanking the Uboh family and Dr. Isaiah Okoh, he called on other well meaning sons and daughters of Ekuku-Agbor to join efforts to restore electricity in the community.
