
The Elema of Oki, community in Ika South local government area, Chief Edison Edward, last Saturday, October 3rd, inaugurated a fifteen man think-tank/advisory committee to help in piloting the affairs of the community. The committee which comprised of five members from each of the quarters that make up Oki; Oki-Uku, Idumu-eka and Idumu-igun, has Chief Dr Philip Onyekpe as Chairman. The occasion was held at the Oki residence of the Elema.
Speaking with our reporter, Chief Edison noted that the committee will help by working with him closely to see to the proper running of the community. He stated that members of the committee are prominent and distinguished members of Oki who have integrity and the ears of the people, observing that their input and advice will ensure the all round development of the community.
He charged them to be up to their responsibilities as major stakeholders of the community and conduct themselves in manners worthy of their position.
Also speaking, Chief Dr Philip Onyekpe thanked the Elema and the entire community for finding them worthy to serve in this capacity, noting that will henceforth, be saddled with the responsibility of seeing to the planning and execution of policies that will bring progress to the community. He also thanked the Dein of Agbor, H.R.M Dr Benjamin Ikenhuku Keagborekwuzi l for honouring the community by installing the Elema and ensured that the welfare and renaissance of Oki remains their top priority.
Some members of the committee include; Chief Philip Onyekpe(Chairman), Mr Francis Emefiele(Vice-chairman), Mr Ojeifo Thomson(Secretary), Dr Ugboh Onyemaechi(Ass. Sec), Ojo Gabriel(Provost),Mr Patrick Ojeifo(Provost2), Kemele Williams, Erigbo Andrew, Nwanunu Francis, Ogwu P.O. and Charles Agboje(S.A. to the Elema.
It also had an elder statesman, Chief Major Frederick Efam rtd fss. J.P. as the patron of the committee.
