The serene and agrarian community of Alihagu came alive on Saturday, 29th as family and friends gathered to celebrate the 83rd birthday anniversary of Ezinne Maria Anini Irabor.
Saint Mark’s Anglican Church, Alihagu was the venue for the Thanksgiving service where a host of dignitaries were present to felicitate with the celebrant and her family.
Security was top notch as the presence of Major General Leo Irabor, one of the celebrants children saw several soldiers securing the area.
Hon Okoh Festus Chukwuyem, Member DTHA Ika South Constituency, Dr Festus Okubor, Rear Admiral Pat Ndidi Agholor, Brigadier Gen. I.A. Jameh, Commander 63rd Brigade, Asaba were among the notable personalities present at the occasion. Others were; Mr Dele Charles, Mr Bright Okozuwa, Mr Anthony Ebite J.P, Mr Lucky Monye and a host of others.
The reception ceremony was indeed a colourful one as guests were treated to a lavish array of food and drinks. Love your neighbour live band was also on ground to entertain the teeming number of guests at the event.
The octogenarian defied age and went round dancing and appreciating her guests in company of her children and grand children.
Paying tribute to his mum, Mr Joseph Ejime Irabor Esq. described her as a virtuous woman who always leaves a positive impact on whomever she comes across. He prayed God to multiply her days and the grace to cling on to Him always.
For Gen Irabor, his mum is simply the best and a woman of faith. He thanked her for the love and sacrifices she showered on her children and prayed that her latter years will be sweet and glorious.
Also extolling the celebrant, Mr Isioma Isoko, a grand son described her as a phenomenal grandmother and feels blessed to have such a wonderful woman in his life. He wished her long life and good health and above all God’s boundless love.
