The Ministers Conference which took place at the church auditorium of Faith Miracle Church, Ewueze, Abavo, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, was well attended with Forty Men of God and other church workers.
In his exhortation, The Guest Speaker, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, the General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, Agbor, who spoke on the Theme of the Conference, “The Cost Of Being A Pastor”, took his Bible reading from the books of Luke 14:26, John 15:16, Isaiah 40:28-31, Psalms 112:1, Isaiah 45:7 and Proverbs 20:13.
Admonishing the gathering he stated that the calling of God requires selfless sacrifice and total obedience to the commandments of God; he noted that many men of God have deviated from their Pastorial duties, engaging in other occupations because they do not understand the calling of God upon their lives. Continuing, he asked to know from them “What is the calling of God?”; in answering the question, he explained that the calling of God is for them to surrender themselves completely to God without engaging in other jobs but being tied to the commandments of God. He frowned at the situation where some Pastors engaged more in farm work rather than engaging fully in evangelism and soul winning for God; emphasizing that God has stated in His word that unless they forsake all other things and cleave solely to Him, God; they cannot become His disciples; explaining that God has chosen and ordained them that they should go and bring forth fruits and that their fruits should remain; assuring that once they are able to achieve the instructions, God will grant unto them whatsoever they shall ask of God through His son Jesus Christ.
The General in the Lord’s Vineyard, who is also the Proprietor of Job Orphanage Home and the Proprietor of St. Stephen Trust Widows Home, both in Agbor, charged the Pastors to always fear God and delight greatly in keeping His commandments, saying that God has promised that He will make their seed to be mighty upon the earth and shall bless their generation when they obey strictly to His instructions.
Speaking further, he stated that the program was geared towards reawakening them for a revival and make them more committed to the task of evangelism which is their major calling.
Prophet Igbodo, appreciated the Men of God for attending the conference and encouraged them to continually take God’s commandments seriously, so that they can bear fruits which will guarantee them and their generation succour from God.
During deliberations on some sailent issues at the second session of the Conference; while appraising the lifting on the ban placed on churches to conduct church services during the wake of the coronavirus pandemic; the Conference Participants expressed their dismay at the situation where the alleged Chairman of the Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN), Ika South Chapter; Pastor Egba, brought Policemen to their churches to disrupt church proceedings; an action which they viewed as an affront to the Body of Christ. They noted that using the Police to threaten people was wrong; maintaining that if the man has wisdom, he would have called for Pastors Meeting, where he would advise them on what to do and not to go about using Policemen to intimidate Pastors and disrupt church proceedings; warning that people should be careful when dealing with the things pertaining to God, so that they will not be destroyed by the wrath of God.
