The Leader, Legislative Arm, Ika South Local Government Council, Hon Evans Ughe, has distributed cash and pieces of wrappers to his constituents in Ward 5A, Ekuku-Agbor. The well attended ceremony took place on Wednesday, August 5, at the party’s Secretariat at Ekuku-Agbor and was witnessed by the Chairman of the ward, Hon Ifeanyi Monye, Chairman, Delta State Agricultural Agency, Chief Dr Emmanuel U.Tibi, executive members of the ward as well as party supporters in the area.
The beneficiaries were drawn from the nine units in the ward. Thirty persons received cash of #10,000 each why twenty-five persons were given pieces of wrappers.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Hon Evans Ughe said that the gesture was in fulfillment of his promise to the people of his Ward during his electioneering campaigns. He added that the gesture was to thank them for their support for him, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP.
He said, “I have come to say a very big thank you to our dear people of Ward 5A, Ekuku-Agbor for their support and prayer. I am glad to be your representative at the Legislative Arm of the Ika South Local Government Council. I will continue to identify with you all. Together, we are going to move PDP in our ward, local government and state forward.”
Hon Ughe used the opportunity to thank the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chiedu Ebie, the PDP Chairman,Ika South, Jude Onya, Chief(Dr) Emmanuel U.Tibi, Comrade Jerry Ehiwario and Hon Chuks Emuebie for the various roles they are playing towards the growth of the party in the ward. He concluded by saying that he will continue to join efforts with the leaders and members of the party in the ward to move the party forward.
The Chairman of the ward, Hon Ifeanyi Monye commended Hon Evans Ughe for giving back to the people of his Ward. He described the lawmaker as a good representative of the ward, urging him to keep on with the good work he is doing for his people. He congratulated the beneficiaries and appealed to those who are yet to receive any empowerment in the ward to be patient as everyone cannot be empowered at the same time. He called on the people of the ward to double their support for Governor Okowa, Chiedu Ebie, Jude Onya and the PDP family, stating that dividends of democracy will get to the door steps of everyone in the ward.
Mr Okorocha James and Mrs Maria Onwueme on behalf of other beneficiaries thanked Hon Evans Ughe for the gesture, assuring that they will remain supportive of the leadership of the Chairman of the ward, Hon Ifeanyi Monye, Jude Onya and Governor Okowa.
High point of the ceremony was the presentation of cash and wrappers to the beneficiaries.
