Sunday, September 20, 2020, was a joyous day of double celebration for the family of Mr. & Mrs. Emmanuel Egbuchinem, a Senior Reporter with Ika Mirror Newspaper; as they appeared before the Altar of God to thank Him for saving the life of his wife from the claws of death and for God’s protection upon Baby Awesome Ifechukwude Egbuchinem, who celebrated his One year birthday same day.
The Thanksgiving and Birthday ceremony which took place at the church headquarters of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, located at Number 103, Charles Street, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State; was to appreciate God for His grace, protection and the successful surgical operations He granted his wife Mrs. Augustina Egbuchinem, last year during child birth and the safety of the baby.
In his sermon, the General Overseer of the Church, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, who spoke on the message he titled, “For You To Know That Enemies Are Wicked”, took his Bible reading from the books of Exodus 14:1-5 and Isaiah 31:1-5.
Admonishing the congregation, he described the wicked individuals as Enemies of Progress. He stated that Life is God and without God there is No Life; explaining that one of the problems most Christians have is that they do not know that in all their challenges God remains God; saying that if a person wants to survive in life there are enemies who in most cases are close associates that the person must cut off relationship with so that they will not destroy the person; maintaining that Holiness do not permit an individual to eat with the devil; emphasizing that God created Man to be wise, advising that as Christians they should understand that Life entails wisdom and not acting foolishly, disclosing that several persons die because they lacked the wisdom to discern the characters of the people living within their environments.
Continuing, the Elect of God, who also doubles as the Proprietor of Job Orphanage Home and the Proprietor of St. Stephen Trust Widows Home, both in Agbor, charged the gathering to always read and have a deep understanding of the word of God (The Holy Bible); emphasizing that the word of God is the word of Life and the word of wisdom wherein they will have a Perfect Life.
Speaking further, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, enjoined all to lead a Careful Life as Christians for when they are careful God will release His bountiful blessings unto them and He will also fight their battles; stressing that when a person is on the side of Jesus Christ such person will get redemption from sin and the challenges of life.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the special thanksgiving by Mr. & Mrs. Emmanuel Egbuchinem and their children, who were accompanied by family members, well wishers and the church members who in praise and worship danced in great jubilation to the beautiful song rendition by the church choir as they appeared before the Altar of God to thank Him for His grace and mercies which kept them alive.
Full of excitement, Mrs. Augustina Egbuchinem, shared her wonderful testimony before the congregation; of how God saved and kept her alive after undergoing three major surgical operations within Five weeks between September and October 2019.
The colourful event also featured the cutting of his One year birthday anniversary celebration cake by Baby Awesome Ifechukwude Egbuchinem; and Prayers for God’s continuous protection upon the family by Prophet Joseph Igbodo.
