It was an outpour of commendations on Monday, August 10, 2020 as the Ika Film Village, Agbor-Nta was commissioned. The commendations were on the National President, CEFO, Mr. Percy Monday Edoki who through a dint of hard work and focus built the film (Nollywood) Village, the first in Agbor and Ika Land as a whole. The Nollywood Village which is largely targeted at the productions of epic movies houses a good number of buildings erected with bamboos, raffia palms and mud.
Speaking shortly after the commissioning ceremony, an ace Nollywood actor, Mr. Harry B. Anyanwu said, “Monday Percy Edoki has done very well in Nollywood industry. He has contributed in no small measure towards the growth and development of the movie industry in Nigeria. He deserves commendations because he has done well. We will work together to ensure the continued success of Nollywood and also make sure that Ika Film Village becomes a beehive of activities. We are using this medium to appeal to government and well meaning Nigerians to support Nollywood financially.”
A respected community leader, Dr Victor Ikpon in an interview at the film village said, I am proud to identify with my dear brother and friend, Mr. Monday Percy Edoki for this great achievement, which is the establishment of the Ika Film Village. He is a worthy son and ambassador of Ika Land. I wish him all the best in his well deserved Nollywood career.”
For Rev. Fr. Victor Ibude, he took time to pray for Mr. Monday Percy Edoki. He wished him God’s continued blessing, guidance, wisdom and good health. While commending Edoki, he declared that the Ika Film Village will blossom and achieve her aims to the glory of the Almighty God.
On the part of the National Vice-President of CEFO and a popular Nollywood actor, Mr. Ed Ifeanyi Nnasor, “CEFO has come to stay. The establishment of the Ika Film Village is a boost to what we are going to achieve in the future. I commend the National President of CEFO; Mr. Monday Percy Edoki for his vision and drive to succeed as far as CEFO is concerned. We will keep doing our best towards the growth of the Nollywood industry.”
Another ace Nollywood actor who spoke to newsmen, Mr. Amechi Muonagor described Monday Percy Edoki as a blessing to the Nollywood industry, adding that the Ika Film Village will create room for the discovery of new talents. He commended efforts being made by Edoki for the growth of Nollywood in Ika Land. He wished the Agbor born movie director and actor well in all his endeavors.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Monday Percy Edoki said he is poised to make Ika Land a Nollywood hub in Delta State. He disclosed that CEFO since inception has produced over six hundred and thirty movies. He promised to continue to do his best towards the advancement of the Nollywood industry. He thanked all those who have identified with him in different ways, noting that the Ika Film Village will not only be an entertainment hub but, also announce Ika Land to the outside world.
