The Acting Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, who before now was the Head of Personnel Management of the council, Sir F. C. Obianke, has paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Owa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor ll (JP).
The visit to the royal father, on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, was to formally introduce himself to the revered monarch for his fatherly advice and blessings, being the number one citizen of the kingdom.
Sir F. C. Obianke, who was accompanied on the visit by top government functionaries of the local government council, in a brief remark thanked and appreciated the royal father for the strong cordial relationship with the council authority; he also commended him for the mutual peace and tranquility that is being enjoyed by everyone within the kingdom and its environs. While soliciting for the sustenance of the lasting peace, he appealed for the unflinching support of the traditional ruler and major stakeholders of the entire Owa Kingdom in collaborating with the local government council to further strengthen the good security atmosphere that is being enjoyed by all.
On his part, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRM Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor ll (JP), appreciated the August visitor for being found worthy of handling the affairs of the council till after the forthcoming local government elections scheduled to hold in the month of March 2021. He urged him to uphold the sterling qualities which qualified him for the noble assignment and not to disappoint the trust reposed on him by the relevant authorities, warning that the period of his stay in office as sole administrator is a tempting period. He charged the colleagues of the Acting Chairman to support and rally round him in order for him to have a successful administration, noting that as civil servants, if they do not support their superior officer in his assigned duties, he will not succeed.
Continuing, the royal father who doubles as the Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, advised Sir F. C. Obianke, to work towards upgrading the environmental sector and concentrate on Earth roads, he advised him to formulate a policy that will encourage the development of earth roads, saying, “I am not asking that the earth roads should be tarred, but that they should be made motorable, knowing that this is dry season”.
Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor ll (JP), further enjoined the Acting Chairman, to direct his attention towards the new market in the area, urging that it should be protected and made to function effectively as supposed, admonishing however, that they should give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to Christ what belongs to Christ.
His Royal Majesty further promised to use his good office as the Chairman of Ika North East Traditional Rulers Council to arrange for a meeting between the Acting Chairman and the traditional rulers within the council area in order for him to familiarize himself with them.
In a chat with Ika Mirror Newspaper reporter shortly after the visit, the Ika North East local government council Acting Chairman, Sir F. C. Obianke, who was full of smiles, promised to adhere and work diligently with members of his team to actualize the advice of the royal father. Continuing, he was optimistic, that by the grace of God and with the existence of His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta State Governor, and the council area will witness more positive transformations.
Sir F. C. Obianke, was accompanied on the visit to the royal palace by Mr. M. A. Bakwunye (Treasurer TLG), Dr. G. O. Kaizer (Director of Administration), Mr. Stephen Okwueze (The Officer In Charge Of Traditional Matters) and Mr. Kingsley Chukwuma.
