The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ika South Local Government, Hon. Jude Onya has inaugurated the party’s newly constituted Reconciliation Committee with the mandate to reconcile aggrieved party members.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the party Secretariat, along Mariere Street, Agbor.
Hon. Jude Onya explained that the Reconciliation Committee was set up to bring aggrieved members together for the betterment of the Party.
He noted that the state Reconciliation Committee under the leadership of his Excellency Sam Obi will be around on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, hence, it is important to set up a committee.
He said that the people that are a little bit aggrieved will be invited in order for the state committee to hear from them.
Continuing, he enjoined the committee members to start their assignment immediately the modalities of the work is spelt out to them.
He stated that the committee members were chosen for their various antecedents in the party which he said has spoken much for them.
He charged them to carry out they duties with calmness, adding that nothing is achieved through disharmony.
The names of the newly inaugurated members of the Reconciliation Committee are: Dr. Chukwuma O. Nwanochia, Hon. Cosmas Igbinijie, Mrs.Helen Aghedo, Hon.Cordelia Anyangwu, Hon(Barr) Bienose Austin, Rev.Philip Orubisi , Deacon Andrew Ashien, Hon. Fred Ofume, Hon. Williams Omorojie, Dr. Philip E Agbeyeke, Mr. Fred Alele, Ezinne(Mrs) Cecilia Ogbonyeri, Mr. Patrick Nwaoga, Comrade Jonathan Ojobu and Hon. (Dr.) Amechi Ehimatie.
Similarly, the retired civil servant, Dr. Philip Agbeyeke who formally joined the party stated that PDP is a grassroot political party hence, collaborating and partnering with such party is for the development of the community.
The Abavo born illustrious son averred that his vision is to support the party in it’s programmes of fiscal development and infrastructure of the community.
He lauded the progress, activities and development of PDP in Delta State, particularly the government of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, saying that it is only a right thinking person will like to be part of the success of such organization.
He used the opportunity to advise party members and the newly inaugurated committee members to work and achieve the mandate of the party chairman for the reconciliation of all aggrieved members in order to speak in one voice and achieve success before the next election.
Also, Hon. Jude Onya stated that PDP is open for anybody to come in and fellowship as he thanked members for their support.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Ika South PDP Reconciliation Committee, Dr Chukwuma O.Nwaonicha expressed appreciation to Jude Onya and the entire PDP family in Ika South for the confidence reposed on them, assuring that they are not going to disappoint them. He described Jude Onya as a selfless and good leader whose leadership quality is going to move the Ika South PDP forward. He further stated that the emergence of Onya as PDP Chairman in Ika South is a right step in a right direction. He called for more support for Onya for the overall good of the party.
