Fred Ofume
The immediate past chairman of Ika South Local Government Area and a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ika South, Hon Fred Ofume has said that it’s the turn of Oki to produce the next Ward 6 Councillor.
Ofume disclosed this at Oki on Tuesday, October 6 while addressing large members of the PDP family in the community who played host to Mrs. Ogor Obuh, wife of the late illustrious son of the community, Mrs Ogor Obuh.
The erstwhile Ika South Council Boss said Ward 6 which is made up of Idumuesa (Comprising Alihame, Ali-Okpu and Aliagwai), Agbor-Nta and Oki have been maintaining rotational positions in any Council election in the local government, noting that the late permanent secretary, Government House, Asaba, Sir Tony Obuh played a very vital role in the emergence of the incumbent Councillor in the ward. He posited that for the sake of equity and justice the rotation for the Councillorship position in the ward favours Oki.
His words, “It’s the turn of Oki to produce the next Councillor in Ward 6. To the best of my ability the next Ward 6 Councillor will come from Oki. I have people from Alihame who are aspiring for the seat, I always advise them to go round in their consultations because in politics anyone could be lucky. However, for the sake of truth it’s the turn of Oki to clinch the next Councillorship position. If I’m asked, I will say that it’s the turn of Oki. All we want the people of Oki to do is to double their support for PDP. We don’t want any opposition in Oki.”
He rounded up by expressing gratitude to the Tony Obuh family for the great role they played and they are still playing towards the advancement of PDP in Ward 6.
