The Okibali of Imiele Quarters in Abavo Kingdom, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Iyetor Augustine has said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration’s transformative initiative has benefited his community, saying that without the governor, Abavo people would have not witnessed the construction of road networks in the community.
Mr. Iyetor who made the assertion in a chat with newsmen at Imiele Quarters, Abavo said that Governor Okowa is a God sent to Deltans, even as he appealed to government to construct more link roads in his area for easy accessibilty, as farming remains the mainstay of the people in the area.
He listed the roads to include, Ekuma road, renovation of the building of Abavo Boys Secondary School, including renovation of the health centre. He further called on the government to site a higher school where the future leaders can go and learn, provision of portable bore-hole water and health care facilities for the indigenes of the agrarian community.
Mr. Iyetor called for greater cooperation and unity among the people. He also called on Abavo sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora to come home and contribute their quotas for the development of Abavo Community as home is home.He commended the Obi of Abavo Kingdom,HRM Obi Uche Irenuma 11for his quality leadership and prayed God to grant him long life on the throne.
He further thanked the illustrious sons of Abavo Kingdom, Barr. Victor Okoh, Hon. Marthins Okoh and Barr. Iku Sunday for meaningful contributions towards the development of Abavo Kingdom
