The Councillorship aspiration of a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party in Ward 2, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Festus Igumbor, well known as Ofunim, on Tuesday evening gained momentum as he emerged flagbearer of the party.
Ofunim was unanimously elected for the job by party leadership having carefully observed his traits and capacity to deliver on the people’s mandate.
Meanwhile, Ofunim who was overwhelmed with joy shortly after the primaries, promised not to undermine the party’s supremacy.
He pledged his allegiance to that party while assuring that the confidence reposed on him would not be regretted.
He called on other aspirants who were unsuccessful for the race to team up with him in order to have PDP gain landslide victory on the deal day.
“I am immensely grateful to our leaders, elders and youths of PDP in Ward 2 for finding me worthy to represent them at the legislative arm of Ika South Local council.
“I want to assure all that I will be of my best capacity while we strive to build a stronger and better Ika South Local Government,” Ofunim added.
