The newly elected executive of the National Association of Ika Students, has been inaugurated.
The inaugural ceremony held amidst funfair at Hotel Kezaiah on June 13, 2020, was well coordinated by the stakeholders which turned out in large numbers for the occasion.
Also in attendance were representatives from the various institutions, family members, friends, clergymen and the Provost of the College of Education, Chief Dr. Joseph Ukadike, ably represented by the college PRO, Mr. Fedinard Iweriebon.
The new executive members of NAIS as inaugurated include, Ebegboni Christian Chuks (President), Ighodaro hope(V.P1), Francis Chukwuka Ekpenisi (V.P 2), Abamba Chiyem Justice (Sec. Gen.), Osayande Godstime (Assistant Sec.), Augustus obinna.I (Financial Sec.), Osedumbi precious (Assistant Fin. Sec.), Iwebuke Emeke wisdom (Treasurer), Otalor favour (P.R.O), Azuka wisdom Brain (Provost), Nwali Justice Chukwuyem (Director of Social), Chukwuenweniwe Dennis Uche (Assistant Director of Social), Agini Precious (Welfare Director) and Okocha Ruth.S (Assistant Welfare Director).
They swore through an oath of allegiance administered by a legal luminary, Barr. Dan Ogbotor, pledging to serve the association to the best of their capacity.
In his remark, the President, Comr. Ebegboni expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality. He also appreciated the past union leaders (NAIS Stakeholders) for their fatherly role since their emergence, assuring that his government would build upon the legacies of his predecessors.
Speaking further, Ebegboni promised to work in love and unity with his executive to promote self confidence and reliance amongst the Ika students, embark on revenue drive, promote Ika culture, organize conferences and also strive to complete the NAIS building project sited in Agbor.
Also, the President elect assured of embarking on human capital development in line with the Stronger Delta mantra of their grand patron, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
While praying for God’s wisdom towards the success of his administration, Comr. Ebegboni beckon the support of the Stakeholders and other well meaning indigenes of Ika land.
Earlier in the ceremony, the Chairman of the Past Student Union Leaders, Comr. Lucky Ehiobu, congratulated the executive.
He urged them to work with the vision of NAIS, explaining that they have been privileged by way of their elections, to become ambassadors for positive change.
He warned against extortion amongst other ridiculous attitudes while in an attempt to circumvent protocols in her leadership, adding that the Stakeholders will not hesitate to sanction them as event unfolds.
Meanwhile, the Chairman encouraged the Ebegboni led executive of NAIS to work in synergy even as he assured of the Stakeholders maximum support.
Others who spoke separately at the event include the College Provost representative, Mr. Iweriebon, clergymen, Comr. Austin Obihia and the immediate past President of the association, Comr. Agbontean.
