The old tradition of succession of first sons of late members of Ogboni Confraternity has seriously exposed the group as an evil one. The dreaded cult group has a serious tradition of replacing dead members with their most senior sons, a development which has been portraying the group in a negative light. This was exemplified with the battle against the first son of their late leader from Jattu, Auchi, Edo State, Ekhasomih Polycarp. The 20 years old young secondary school graduate, had the vision to live freely with his people without engaging himself in any cult activity. Unfortunately, reverse has been the case for young Ekhasomih Polycarp as members of Ogboni Fraternity have vowed to kill him if he refused to succeed his late father by joining the cult group. The group claimed that owing to their succession rites, Ekhasomih Polycarp has no excuse to give to them why he should not succeed his late father who led the group for many years before his death.

It was gathered that Ekhasomih Polycarp, a Christian had on several occasions escaped death as threats against his life by members of Ogboni Confraternity increased by the day.
Our reporters reliably gathered that so many efforts have been made by the family of Ekhasomih Polycarp, yet the Ogboni Confraternity Cult Group refused to let go even when security agencies were completely briefed and involved on the issue. It was also reported that large percentage of members of Ogboni Confraternity are in top government offices and, they also hold sway at the economic sector. This was why it is always very difficult to win any battle against them in Nigeria.

However, all efforts to reach Ekhasomih Polycarp on phone was not successful as his whereabouts was not known. They were doubts if Ekhasomih Polycarp is still in Nigeria as the threats on his life by members of Ogboni Confraternity Cult Group is still raging.
