It was indeed a day in history, Tuesday, October 6 as members of Oki Community came out in their large number on Tuesday, October 6 to welcome their illustrious and beloved daughter in-law, Mrs. Ogor Obuh.
Mrs. Ogor, a philanthropist and bridge builder was in Oki to appreciate them for their support for her and members of her family. She was received by a mammoth crowd of men and women, including youths. The wife of the late iconic community leader and elder statesman, Tony Obuh was accompanied in the visit by her eldest son, Tony Obuh Junior, the member representing Ika South Constituency, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, popularly known as, Chuky Dandy, the immediate past chairman, Ika South Local Government, Hon Fred Ofume, Special Assistant to the Delta State governor,on Orientation, Rotn. Williams Eghebi, the Oworwor King, Ezegwu Joe Morgan, Hon Smart Dibie, Special Assistant to the governor,on Land Security, Hon Marvin Nwangbogwu, also known as, Yakee Claro and members of Onyedozihien Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society led by Comrade Jonathan Ojobu.

Ogor Obuh, a philanthropist and loving daughter in-law to the Oki Community and members of her entourage were received by Chief Philip Onyekpe, Kalistar Onainor, Comrade Fred Alele, elders, women, youths and other members of the community.
In her speech, Mrs Obuh thanked Oki Community for their great support for her and members of her family, saying that she will remain grateful to all of them. She stated that her husband lived a good life and his legacies will remain evergreen in their minds.
According to her, “Thank you so much for all your support for me and members of my family.My husband and our leader, Tony Obuh did not die, he lives on.Oki remains a PDP family and we don’t want any single APC in our community. I will not abandon you people. Together, we will continue to work towards the achievement of our targeted goals.
She urged members of Oki Community not to relent in their support for PDP and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.

A popular PDP Chieftain in Oki and a former chairman of Ward 6, Chief Philip Onyekpe in his remark said, “Oki Community is one hundred percent in support of Mrs. Ogor Obuh.She is our beloved daughter in-law. We thank her for coming to hold meeting with us at Oki. We are indeed very grateful to her. Oki Community is one hundred percent in support of her. Thank you so much for the good things you are doing for Oki Community, particularly the water bore-hole you donated to our community which to a large extent addressed the water challenge in Oki. We urge you to remain focused and committed in your resolve to help humanity and the society in general. Do not allow detractors to distract you for we are very proud of you.”
Also speaking, the immediate past chairman of Ika South Local Government Area and a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ika South, Hon Fred Ofume said that it’s the turn of Oki to produce the next Ward 6 Councillor.
The erstwhile Ika South Council Boss said Ward 6 which is made up of Idumuesa (Comprising Alihame, Ali-Okpu and Aliagwai), Agbor-Nta and Oki have been maintaining rotational positions in any Council election in the local government, noting that the late permanent secretary, Government House, Asaba, Sir Tony Obuh played a very vital role in the emergence of the incumbent Councillor in the ward. He posited that for the sake of equity and justice the rotation for the Councillorship position in the ward favours Oki.

He expressed gratitude to the Tony Obuh family for the great role they played and they are still playing towards the advancement of PDP in Ward 6.
Speaking in the same, the member representing Ika South Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, popularly known as, Chuky Dandy said that he will remain grateful to late Tony Obuh for the huge support he gave to him during his electioneering campaigns. He promised to continue to do his best in the advancement of the people of Ika South and PDP.
In his remark, Mr Tony Obuh Junior expressed gratitude to the Oki Community for the huge support given to his family during the demise of their late father, Tony Obuh. He stated that Oki is their beloved home and they will continue to contribute meaningfully towards her growth and development. He called on them to remain supportive of PDP and the Government of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
In the same vein, the leader of Onyedozihien Multi-Purpose group, Comrade Jonathan Ojobu enjoined the people of Oki Community to remain committed and undaunted in their support for PDP, noting that with the Obuh family Oki Community will continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. He thanked them for strong believe in PDP, assuring that the party is not going to disappoint them.
