Okoh appeals to youths
As the call by well meaning Nigerians on the youths to shun violent attacks on government owned facilities and individual businesses intensifies while going about the legitimate EndSARS protests in Nigeria, the president of community youths in Delta North Senatorial District, Hon Okoh Friday Hero, has joined in the appeal for an articulate and peaceful protest as purposed in the early days of the EndSARS protests.
The youth leader who also doubles as Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on youth development, made the call while addressing notable youth representatives from the various communities in the senatorial district on Saturday, 25th October in his boji boji Owa Casino Bar and lounge.
Okoh while noting that though the state government had taken necessary steps to assure she was on the side of the youths in their demand for a reform in the Nigeria police force, justice for victims of police brutality and general welfare of the youths in governance by constituting a judicial panel of inquiry, said it was ideal for the protesters to conduct themselves in the manner that justified that they are focused and resolute all through the process of the protests.
The youth chairman while also appreciating the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for taken proactive measures toward curbing the escalating violent behaviours and attacks on property of government and individual businesses by hoodlums who had hijacked the protest, emphasized that there was need for Nigerian youths having proved that Nigeria of their dream is possible with them by mobilizing themselves across states within a short time to speak out in one accord against injustice meted out on them by security force that was constitutionally saddled with the responsibility to protect lives and property of Nigerian citizens, to see themselves as winners of the war against police brutality and other inhuman acts against them.
He therefore appealed to the youths to remain peaceful and shun actions and behaviours capable of throwing the country into further crisis.
