A popular traditional medicine practitioner in Idumuesa, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, Orie Egwuanimkwu, has made case for the growth and development of traditional medicine in the state. He posited that traditional medicine practice is today, confronted with enormous challenges because government has no interest in the area.
His words, “I’m a traditional medicine practitioner based in Idumuesa. I have been in the practice for many years. I specialized in areas such stroke, barrenness, weak erection, pile, epilepsy, spiritual attacks and mental problems. By the grace of God, I have over the years treated and cured many persons with health challenges who have come to me. It’s unfortunate that government is not looking into our area, but, we will continue to do our best for the benefit of humanity.”
He appealed to government to take the issue of traditional medicine practice in the state seriously as it will go a long way in creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths and also generate revenue for the government.
He used the medium to call on the state government to pay attention to the deplorable roads in Idumuesa, a community which according to him is a food basket in the state.
