The leaders and members of Owa Alizomor Development Union have eulogized an illustrious son of Owa Alizomor Community and former deputy governor of Delta State, Evangelist Simeon Ebonka who passed on last month at the age of 72 years.
The Union while presenting a letter of condolence to the family of the late elder statesman described him as a pillar, result oriented community leader, philanthropist and servant of God who impacted positively on lives before his demise.
The Chairman of the Union, Dr Geoff Ohen through his Vice-Chairman, Engr Dennis O.Ezenwali said that they were at the residence of the late deputy governor to commiserate with the family of their late leader and father. He stated that Ebonka was a committed member of the Union as he never failed in any of his obligations with the Union.He went further to describe the late Ebonka as a humorous and jolly fellow man who meant well for everyone. He advised the bereaved family of the late icon not to cry too much because their father lived a good life. While praying that the soul of Ebonka should rest in peace in the bosom of the Almighty God, he disclosed that his Union will join efforts to give the former deputy governor a befitting burial.
In separate remarks, the Secretary of the Union, Deacon Nath Kisimkwu and Hon Joseph I.Okolie described late Ebonka as a father, leader and confidant, noting that his demise was a great loss not only to Owa Alizomor Community but also to Ika nation, Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.
“He was a father, leader and very good to us.There was never a dull moment with him. He was a very committed Community leader as he never relented any time he was called upon to assist. We love him because he impacted positively on our lives. We are going to miss him for his role and advise. We will play active role the plan to give him a befitting burial. May the Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest.”
