The Traditional Ruler of Owa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel Efeizomor II JP, has given out Palliatives to the inmates of Job Orphanage Home, Agbor; with other selected 230 widows, physically challenged persons and some churches as co beneficiaries.
The gesture which according to the Royal Father was part of activities to commemorate his 61st Coronation Anniversary Celebration; geared towards assisting them in cushioning the harsh effect of the economic situation in the country.
In a brief speech, at the presentation of the Palliatives to the beneficiaries, which took place at the Owa Palace Hall, on Sunday, September 6, 2020; the Royal Father said that the gesture was in appreciation to God for sparing his life and granting him the opportunity to celebrate Sixty One years on the throne of his forefathers.
Continuing, he expressed dismay on the failure of the traditional institutions and the society in taking care of the suffering women, widows, orphans, the physically challenged persons and the down trodden in the society. The Royal Father called on the Men folk, spirited individuals and organizations to correct the anomalies by rising up to their responsibilities in taking care of the women, widows, orphans, physically challenged persons and the destitute in their midst; in order for them to have a sense of belonging and faith in the society and constituted institutions.
He appreciated Prophet Joseph Igbodo, the Proprietor of Job Orphanage Home, Agbor, for his selfless contributions to humanity, through his wonderful Philanthropic assistance to the orphans, widows and the less privileged persons in the society. He Prayed God to protect him and grant him everlasting happiness.
The Royal Father, who is also The Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers; specially thanked and appreciated His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, for his support and assistance over the years; he also appreciated the Chiefs and entire people of Owa Kingdom for their cooperation which had greatly enhanced the growth and development of the Kingdom.
Highpoint of the ceremony were the cutting of the 61st Coronation Anniversary Celebration Cake, Presentation of Palliatives to the beneficiaries and taking of group photographs with His Royal Majesty Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel Efeizomor II JP, the Obi of Owa Kingdom.
In a chat with Ika Mirror Newspaper reporter shortly after the presentation, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, who was visibly excited, described His Royal Majesty Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel Efeizomor II JP, as a loving, caring and revered Royal Father whose love and vision for his people is great. He stated that he and his entourage were at the Royal Palace to celebrate with their beloved King and at his invitation to receive Palliatives from him for the inmates of Job Orphanage Home, Agbor; being part of the activities marking his Sixty One years Coronation Anniversary Celebration.
Continuing, The General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, who is also the Proprietor of St. Stephen Trust Widows Home, both in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State; in his words, said “We are very happy and proud to have the Royal Father as our King and we will continue to Pray, support and wish him long life on the throne and we will continue to contribute our best towards the growth and development of Owa Kingdom and Ika Nation at large”, he concluded.
